I'll lay it out for you: This game is bad and you should play it. On paper, the game is about the complex web of coincidences that shape a person and their views on morality and justice. In practice, it's a nightmare. The game is structured in an episodic format where you pick which episode you watch from a pool of options. This has 2 major consequences: 1. The game can lack a proper sense of narrative progression depending on the order in which you pick your episodes. 2. Because every episode has to stand on its own as a Unique Experience In The Thriller Genre, characters are constantly overexerting their personality traits in order to make sure that at least one insane thing happens per episode. Characters WILL demonstrate their "complex motives" by just straight-up behaving like cartoon villains. To top that off, the story is entirely told through VERY POORLY animated and shot cutscenes. It's clear that the devs were on a tight budget and unaccustomed to working with fully animated cutscenes. The result is that every character looks as inhuman as they act. It's incredibly interesting, deeply stupid, and wildly entertaining. Shifting attention over to the puzzles, they're a mixed bag. They're all rather short and either fall into a category of "pretty simple" or "annoyingly repetitive". They're also largely disconnected from the plot and mostly exist to lead into the Decision Games that create the thriller situations. If you're looking for a satisfying wrap-up to the Zero Escape series, then I'm so sorry; you should have stopped playing after 999 to avoid VLR's cliffhanger ending. If you've come this far and are fine leaving this series off on a failed experiment, then you'll have a fantastic time.

I've really enjoyed the first two Zero Escape entries to the series. Finally took my time to complete the last entry for the series and to be honest, It was quite lackluster compared to the previous games. Don't get me wrong, in terms of gameplay it's still fun. The puzzles remains creative except few annoying parts but still manages to keep it fresh throughout the game. The music has been revamped with remixes making old nostalgic soundtrack even better than before and I enjoyed the plot twist for game's map. Overall the characters were enjoyable and bonus credits will be given for the animated cutscenes, although it can be janky at times. The main let down comes from it's story and the main motivation for "Zero". Compare to previous games, it felt really weak and at times just for the sake of moving the plot forward. Overall it's still a pretty solid game and I would give this game a solid 8/10 for it's improvement over the last two entries. Personally, I still enjoyed 999 & VLR more than this but if you're looking for Mystery/Puzzle visual novel, don't hesitate to try it out. The game frequently gets discounted. Also a side note, that time where Sigma asked to see Phi in swimsuit hits really different now.

Not the strongest game in the trilogy, arguably the worst. A couple plot lines just left out entirely, but the vast majority of the major plot points have been covered and is overall an enjoyable and satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Except for Eric. All my homies hate Eric.

This is the third installment of the Zero Escape series, known for its intense suspense and unique escape room puzzles. While it may have a few rough edges compared to its predecessors, it still provides a thrilling and satisfying finale to the series.
