I think if you're interested in folklore, puzzles, and a good short story, this game is great. I loved the encyclopedia with info on the supernatural beings, and enjoyed the journal entries you can unlock after the first playthrough, revealing much more of the story. However, the game isn't very replayable. There's two endings and several very easy achievements; you can get all that done in like 3-4 playthroughs and it takes 20 minutes tops to complete a playthrough. After that, there's nothing else you can get out of the game. My other complaint is the puzzles combined with how awkward the travelling/map is takes away from the suspense. The map is a bit weird to navigate and you need to take notes of all the runes in order to progress in a certain part. The spookiness and anticipation completely fizzled out for me as I wandered around feeling bored and confused trying to make sure I got every rune. Overall, I would recommend it if you're into visual novels and folklore. I don't recommend it if you expect a game with a lot of engagement and hours of gameplay.

A puzzle game about the lost Swedish practice of year walking , which would have the adventurer go out into deep forest at night to catch a glimpse of the future. Great atmosphere (both the visuals and music), which could do well without jumpscares. Most puzzles are on the easier side, but some of them require you to fiddle with certain objects via your keyboard and mouse -- and it's not explained very well. After beating the game for the first time, try to access the Journal -- a cool in-game piece of "found media" that will tell you more about year walking and the game's plot.

A very neat folklore based puzzle game. I don't really get the reviews saying the puzzle were difficult, especially considering that you get in-game hints for free ? Read the journal once you can. A second ending remained to be seen.

this game is simple but effective. it's a quick game if you get the hang of the mini puzzles, but has good replay-ability especially if you're going for full achievements. the plot is based loosely around an ancient swedish tradition. you get some information but 99% of this game has no dialogue except for when you interact with a woman in the windmill, along with the encyclopedia and journals - which has a lot of information that is fascinating to just sit and read. the puzzles are fun and interactive and require some actual thought put into them instead of being easy and straight to the point. there is a hint system for the puzzles and what to do, but i'd recommend figuring these out yourself, especially considering the game is already somewhat short and the puzzles aren't that difficult to figure out. the visuals and sound design is really what pulled me in though. the art style is two-dimensional and gives a sort of paper vibe but is stunning and beautiful at that. the sound design is enchanting and haunting in it's own right, some of the littlest things being given full attention in regards to sound which just makes this game even more gorgeous to listen to. i think the biggest appeal, however, is the way that it ends. a little confusing especially if you haven't put the pieces together already but even if you have, it will make you want to play again. 100% recommend this game to anybody who enjoys indie horror-esque games, you won't regret playing this one and it has remained at the top of my favorites for years now.
