If you die, directly press alt+f4 so you won't lose your progress since the last checkpoint. In XR1, you can clear the whole campaign without upgrades, using low+hard suspensions on all maps, and tracks aren't especially hard. Xtreme is basically XR1 coming back, this time putting up an actual challenge. And challenge there sure is, but I find it pretty unfair in XR2. Questionnable challenge 1. The economy Because tires are less durable than in XR1, you will need to buy new ones often, which makes grinding mandatory. However, grinding means using more tires. Thus, it still seems more efficient to repeat lower-level tracks using the cheapest tires on a fully-upgraded car (100%-tarmac tracks tend to be easy). Also, the more upgrades you have, the higher the repair costs. To give yourself money the easy way, open the console (key right under and type Cheat.AddCash(number) ) As a new feature, XR2 introduces a couple circuit tracks to get you crank up the gear ratio (that you'd always keep on lowest otherwise). There is also a new endgame tier of supercars, and the final races are on circuit, against 3 bots. I salute the idea of adding some high-speed content, but the game engine makes it so cars at such speeds will spin almost instantly when you start losing control. Thus, practicing high speed on tarmac is time-consuming, as the first mistake will usually damage your car and force you to restart to train more. Duel circuit races are just troll : [*] Tarmac parts will some scummy turns [*] Since there's no checkpoint / ghost to tell you how late you are, it's harder to spot the parts where you waste the most time. [*] Retrying will often cause the game to crash (you have to leave, then re-enter) [*] You must clear these on at least silver to access further content

Old-school rally game, somewhat better than the first, but that's mostly visual. Play only if bored with Dirt Rally 2 or newer, and need something simple. If you don't, just skip it, it not worth much time as it has no controller support, and the keyboard is not precise enough.

I picked up this game and its predecessor (xpand rally) when they both went on sale for 54 cents. and originally I preferred the the first one compared to xpand rally xtreme. But as I played xpand rally xtreme I realized I preferred this one compared to xpand rally. Both games have somewhat good damage models, of course you're not gonna soft body physics with either title but cars to deteriorate where they get hit. the main deference is that xpand rally xtreme looks slightly better and that it has more customization. I would recommended this game if you have; a potato pc, small storage, or just want a bit size game.
