Initially I didn't enjoy this game, but I gave it a few more weeks with some odd runs here and there. Eventually, I managed to stumble across a useful collection of abilities and was able to push deeper into the game and gain access to a significant number of weapons, characters, and upgrades. After a lot more time, I finally found the snowball effect I was looking for. Some weapons are clearly better than others and when you discover the beneficial interactions between the various skill groups, you can exploit them to maximum effect. I just purchased the final perk slot and now I feel like I can take on anything. Working my way through all of the achievements now, mowing down swaths of enemies every run. It's a slow burn, but the comparisons to Hades aren't far off.

After 100% completed the game, all map at max level, unlock everything, try out all the combo, all i can say is that this game was worth the buy. Game play was smooth and non lag except for the final level due to too many enemies spawning (you can neglect it cause i played on a potato laptop). All the NPC dialogue was fun and interesting according to their characteristics. This game brings a new vibe to rougelike genre and i like it. Overall would recommend.

This game is incredibly fun and made with a lot of heart. I love the creativity and the personality put into the Hackers, the boss characters, the designs of the enemies, and how creative the synergies and builds can get. There's so many options to change up your playstyle, the game takes great advantage of its being a digital world to really go crazy.

it's pretty fun honestly. no regrets from me. yeah it's similar to 20 Minutes till Dawn and Vampire survivors, but the powerups are fun, the weapons are interesting, and honestly, the game has a degree of comedy to it. also several women with oversized... ahem. the game also has loads of references to video games and memes. also loads of playable characters each with different abilities. also, about the weapons. there aren't many. what's there is diverse though. but what it lacks in initial variety, it makes up for with the ability to modify the weapon in the middle of the mission with power ups. take the DDOS Gauntlet. basic pistol type weapon. at first. get an upgrade to turn it into a shotgun. then make it fire faster and faster. or ignore the shotgun and turn it into basically a machine gun. but it doesn't stop there either. because outside of battle, you can install upgrades for the upgrades. you get 4 slots to put in a mix of weapon upgrades and a large variety of other benefits. one of my favorites is to add in an upgrade that lets you fire in both directions with the gauntlet if you get the upgrade, then also pick the shotgun upgrade. shotgun from both directions baby! or you can add in extra attack drones if you go for emperor boxer's add ons! or both! the art is pretty nice too. cute pixel art for the on screen action. the higher resolution art pops up when picking upgrades or starting boss fights, or when speaking to NPCs in the lounge. that said, yes, i know emperor boxer and fwost princess are pretty, but don't let that stop you from taking shige kun's bomb add ons just because he's got a beer belly. because if you complete specific add on lines for 2 different characters, you have a chance to get one of their special combo add ons, with some unique banter between the two, just like there was in Hades! i love it. and this is still early access. more good stuff is yet to come.
