I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games like House Flipper or Castle Flipper, where you build and clean with no heavy time constraints. Despite the location the game s largely stress-free and it's satisfying to watch a city re-emerge from rubble. THE GOOD - A very generous free demo -The graphics are great, outside the absolutely but unintentionally terrifying faces on most the NPC's (Seriously, turned around in game and had one RIGHT THERE staring at me with death in his eyes. Jumped out of my skin) -All Hail the Shovel! -Most of the projects are pretty straight forward and stuff that needs doing is highlighted. -I get a big kick out of the fact you can collect the scaffolding while standing on it, and just drop safely to the ground. Awesome. -The little vignettes and collectibles tell the story of the people who lived through the war (or sadly didn't) in a poignant and respectful fashion. -Controls are pretty good for the most part once you figure out the trick of them. -If you or a vehicle get stuck, there is an unstuck button. THE "MEH" -Some stuff is pretty weird, like the bulldozer leaping in the air and doing a barrel roll after hitting a small piece of rubble, and the wrecking ball behaving more like a kite in the breeze, but nothing game-breaking and the equipment doesn't destroy anything it's not supposed to. pretty funny to be honest. -The decorating part can be annoying. Not everything is available at each location, which makes sense, but sometimes the choice of what's available seems weird. And stuff like teapots and bread and teacups can only be placed on a table alone. Huge table, but can only hold an itsy bitsy teacup. Why? The Bad -In some spots the movement gets really laggy, especially on staircases. It almost freezes on landings when you try to turn. -My BIGGEST pet peeve is anything involving the boat. If you fall out of the boat you drown ( respawn without penalty on shore, so no biggie) but the damn boat is now inaccessible. If you leave the game and reload it might be back, but I just gave up on the pier in Hamburg because it wouldn't respawn. In one scenario you had to EXIT THE BOAT in the middle of the lake to fish, hardly intuitive, but nothing tells you that and I was lucky to have stumbled across it in the discussions. There has to be a way to fix this. All in all, if you're okay with ignoring some tasks and like the type of game, you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the game.

This game is a hidden gem for players like me. You play as various characters rebuilding Europe following the destruction in the second World War. You start in Great Britain, then Germany, and finally France. THE PROS: - Historical Rebuilder with Architecture from the late 1940's. Graphics are great quality and there are short historical recaps prior to the beginning of each area. - Customisation of certain build sites. You have some options over how to rebuild certain zones and you can decorate the area during the rebuilding process. - The music is fantastic and calming. - Hidden collectables encourage exploration. - Plenty of Options to assist the Player if stuck. At one point my crane hook got caught, but I could easily leave and reload from saved points and the hook reset. There are also 'unstuck' options built into the game. - Free Remagen DLC which is by FAR the best map in the game. - Drive-able vehicles include a jeep, handcart, crane, dozer, tractor, etc. - The Price during a sale made the game incredibly affordable. THE CONS / POINTS OF IMPROVEMENT: - NPCs are absent from the rebuilt areas unless purchased at the toolbench. If purchased, they only have the option to be static and will not dynamically explore the rebuilt zone. The one exception is Remagen where NPCs enter the area once the area has been rebuilt. You can still deploy additional NPCs on Remagen. The Remagen DLC map is by far the best location. - Customisation is limited based on the available resources, so you won't be filling the parking lots with vehicles. There are ways around this through the building and selling mechanic but it would have been interesting if the customisation became infinite after unlocking 5 stars and all 8 hidden collectibles on a level. - Limited number of NPC options. So you can't have any children on the map for the Carousel, Riesenrad, or the swing toys. You'll likely have duplicates of NPCs if you want to fill out the factory working area. - Certain destruction animations are block-y and a bit inconsistent with the graphics on the rest of the map. - Countries are limited to Great Britain (6 Maps), Germany (3 Maps), and France (2 Maps). Poland is also there but is just a 'Sandbox'. I did not expect a Pacific Theatre, but I would have liked to have seen Belgium, Italy, Sicily, and the Soviet Union. Fingers crossed for DLC.

A very relaxed and laid back game. WW2 is over and it's now time to rebuild the damage. Starting off in the UK and making your way through France and Germany you will clear up and rebuild stations, towns, bridges, ports and churches. Each location has a few flashbacks giving you a snippet of what happened there. To break the routine up a bit you can operate machinery such as bulldozers, mobile cranes, fixed cranes and difuse unexploded ordinance. If you're an achievement hunter or like perfecting games, this one is ideal as the achievements are easy to acquire without much fussing around. Definitely worth picking up if you a lazy afternoon or just try the demo out.

A truly unique idea for a game, with a very nice "death and rebirth" feel to it. It's quite a bit more linear than I'd have hoped for, and it's physics is a bit shaky in many places. Sometimes I caught myself thinking, the rebuilding should be more detailed. Maybe not brick by brick, and plank by plank, but at least placing every window individually instead all of them at once would have been more engaging in some cases, but all in all it found a decent balance there. Yet at the end of the day, while the game offers different options as to how you want to rebuild some places, I never bothered to start another playthrough to find out what the others would have been like. Also it's a bit weird and anachronistic that you tear down an old ruin and then replace it with a brand new building, that somehow is designed with destinctly 1920's or 1910's even architecture. But that might just be me being nitpicky.

This game helped me relax after a hard night shift, its different to what I normally play but I'm glad I played. Its not everyone's cup of tea but I recommend it.
