World of Subways 4 – New York Line 7

The series "World of Subways" features some of the most interesting Subway Routes of the world for the PC. Once again World of Subways 4 comes back to New York, perhaps the most exciting city in the world. The whole gaming world takes place in the 70ies/80ies and is created in its typical look.

World of Subways 4 – New York Line 7 is a simulation, casual and trains game developed by TML-Studios and published by Aerosoft GmbH.
Released on March 23rd 2015 is available only on Windows in 5 languages: English, German, Czech, French and Portuguese - Portugal.

It has received 353 reviews of which 246 were positive and 107 were negative resulting in a rating of 6.6 out of 10. 😐

It's pretty simple but does what it says. Some comments were complaining about crashes but I've had no technical issues running it. 6+/10

Honestly I believe this is the best World of Subways game, although sadly that doesn't mean much. But the game is surprisingly decent if you keep yourself to doing shifts and avoid the missions. Back in 2015 horror games were trendy in YouTube and TML tried to capitalize on that, but those silly missions sort of gave the game a bad reputation which might have been enough for them to pull the plug on the series. Shame because I think this was a somewhat solid base to continue working over it. I like the novelty of making a period game, especially in a rather convulted period of New York's history. Perhaps my biggest complaints are rather poor behavior of the passengers and lack of AI trains on the N and W platforms of Queensboro Plaza. They did non-playable traffic in WoS 3 so I wish they did that too in this game as well. I also noticed AI trains not changing their lights when reversing at terminal stations. But overall it's still pretty enjoyable to play. A full local trip from end to end is over 40 minutes, even less if you play the express service.

Great subway sim ! Maybe TSW Bakerloo is better and it layers into the new TSW5 WCML South, but this is up there with my other subway sims. There are new ones coming, but for now this is just great. Got it on sale today ... a good deal !
