The foundation of Whisker Squadron Survivor is solid. It's addictive "one more try" setup works well and no run over stays it's welcome. It is a bit rough to get through all 3 zones, requiring skill and the right build, but that just makes pulling it off all the more rewarding. The one rough element to this rogue like is the fact there feels to be only "one good build" there are others that can be made, but to pull them off requires luck of the highest degree. That makes building the old reliable and effective the only real option. Basically your options for improvements are locked to "Better guns", "Better Shield", "Speed through Tight Spaces". The big issue being, "Speed through Tight Spaces" honestly isn't strong... ever. There's not enough gaps to dash through to gain your bonuses, and those bonuses aren't strong enough until they are fully leveled. Better Shield is an option, but you really have to lean into it and just isn't as strong as our final option, Better Guns. Better guns is just more damage and more bullets. You want to dump everything into how fast you can get bullets out of your ship. Only two things aren't more bullets with this build. Magnet (Which is just required for every build), because it helps you level all the faster and get more fire power. And Energy Boosting. Since you're firing all the time, you need energy to fire. Thus outside of "More gun go brrr", you need energy to get the brrr. That was 99% of my builds. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast 100% this game. But I think giving weight to other builds outside of "Send damage down range as fast as possible" would improve the game 10 fold. $14.99 is a responsible price I think for the time I spent with the game. Though most of that was spent on a single achievement. After 30 hours, collecting everything... I probably will come back from time to time. So pick this up if Star Fox Rogue-like sounds fun. You'll be pleased with your purchase.

It's a pretty fun Shoot 'em up Roguelite, very easy to grasp and with a good amount of variety. It has a really nice art style with the characters and a straight forward progress to unlock things. Right now it has few weapons and ships, and the maps, even though they look different, are not that interesting, but most of the upgrades are good and some changes the way to play. Also the movement is simple but responsive and with BARREL ROLLS included. It's addictive and entertaining to play runs and challenges, but I think it needs more updates to be incredible. Even so, I recommend it.

Fun StarFox roguelike, though be advised it is VERY unfinished. I don't know how complete the developer thinks it is but IMO it's still in alpha. Hope it gets a ton of updates and becomes eventually incredible.

The game prior to the campaign was a lot better than the game we have now. The map mode tends to break up the intensity of the previous game, and you lose that "can I make it" aspect of the previous version. I still recommend this game, because who doesn't like a species swapped Star Fox style game, but I really wish I could have back the white knuckle continuous levels of the previous game.

Star Fox meets Hades in a neon-soaked futurescape filled with deadly robots. The developers have clearly put in the effort to get the basics down first. Flight mechanics are perfect for the genre, audio/visual feedback is excellent, and the game is generally well balanced. The lack of content is my only real issue at this point, but a few other minor issues: - Pilot balancing needs work. There's three to choose from at the time of writing and one of them has an ability that is just flat out better than the others'. - Ships are in the same situation. Three to choose from, only one worth picking. Otherwise this is a rock solid foundation with tremendous potential for future development. Worth keeping an eye on.
