This is a hack-n-slash with a bit of base defending concept game. It is a layback, zombie killing, enjoyable game. It is a linear, simplistic story telling game. The cool aspect of the game, are the combination of weapon & backpack setups you can do to help you pass the certain missions. I got this game on sale, and it was worth every penny.
really really great game. Simple to get in to and really makes it fun to level, unlock items and build up your zombie army. You feel OP at times but then are quickly humbled by a ranged zombie or mini boss - so that feeling of untouchable only lasts a short time. Base building is good, items snap well and it is easy to maintain your base, enough 'portals' around the map to make exploration fun and quick to nip back to base to empty up or fight off a pesky horde. Only thing I would say is a minor point, the locked POV at times really works against you in (in the mines, or zombie bases that are top or bottom of your screen). You can't quite see well enough to fight and not lose your own zombies during the process, easy enough to rez/recoup your army but I felt that either a wider/taller FOV or ability to rotate a little would help here. 10 Brains out of 10 Brains... Highly recommend.
The game is pretty good and doesn't require a beast of a computer, but from what I feel after playing it, you'll only enjoy it if you're into this niche type of gameplay and story. The characters are pretty basic and annoying, although they're sometimes funny. There are a lot of pop culture references that, even two years later, still land the way I imagine the developers intended. Definitely get it on sale—it's not worth the regular €30 price. If you think you'd be interested at all, I suggest giving it a try. If I had to be critical about anything, though, it would be how much the game slows down in the final 10 hours. Not much really happens; it's mostly just walking around and trying to survive in harsh conditions, without being told that a certain Zombot upgrade you can get will make the whole journey much easier.
