It's a difficult and strategically complex game, and everyone has their own playstyle; here's my personal way to play: 1. Start the game 2. Open the deck builder 3, Spend 1 hour admiring the models and build your fifth Armored Division deck 4. Close the game 5. Repeat

For fans of the genre, this game requires no introduction. Everything is top-notch. Detailed graphics, music stylized for the mid- to late 1980s, dynamic gameplay. The setting is based on Western historiography of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Wish for the developers: 1. add engineering and sapper units with the ability to build fortified structures and minefields; add the ability for infantry to dig in; 2. Diversify the range of barrel and rocket artillery: add ammunition (cluster, illumination, incendiary, for remote mining); 3. Supplement the soundtrack with new compositions in the same style

Multiplayer difficulty too high. Especially when drunk. PS. It's cool how what you're doing as you learn to play is basically go through what national military high commands go through which is you create and update your tactical doctrine. Where and how to land your air assault and what to support it with, how to arrange your order of battle, how to use arty, how to use tanks. etc etc all the questions that army generals write manuals about. It's great :) As you figure out how different unit types work you get to take it to the next level and look at different types of divisions where you can build the battalion the way you like and think about operational planning. This is really where the simulation aspect becomes really rewarding, because the complexity is endless.

I've been gaming my entire life but only ever dabbled in RTS games. I always had trouble multitasking and often relied on pausing a lot to gather my thoughts. Even going back to playing Age of Mythology in high school, I was simply awful at it. I tried out Red Dragon once and while it seemed really cool I felt overwhelmed by the depth. I'd watch an hour long beginner Youtube tutorial and just give up 5 minutes into a match. I always had a persistent interest in the genre but it remained out of my comfort zone for a very long time. But playing through the tutorials and the operations in Warno, I have for the first time in my life broken through the ice and gotten the hang of the game mechanics enough where I felt comfortable entering a PvP match. And it was really fun! I am very, very much a noob but I feel like I can hold my ground against people and don't feel overwhelmed even when stuff goes wrong, and I'm beginning to plan out my tactics ahead and build my decks around that plan. Having a comprehensive ingame tutorial and introduction that slowly shows you different units to play with in such a complex game is crucial. And I can't stress enough how much more enjoyable the experience was when a cool little slideshow story played alongside to keep me invested.

Q: What is the game like? You start on one side of the map, your opponent on the other. You both are armed with initial points to deploy various units such as infantry, tanks, artillery, helicopters, and planes. With each unit under your direct command, your task is to capture key points on the map to earn victory points. You also receive a fixed amount of points every minute to buy more units Q: Is it challenging? It is. Mostly strategically and tactically challenging, but even learning the basics might be difficult if you are new to the genre What are the main improvements over Wargame? The game is less click-intensive now thanks to numerous QoL features. For those who care, they also improved the AI and added a singleplayer campaign However, overall pace here is slower, time-to-kill much higher, and variety in units and tactics much more limited, making games less dynamic and often less fun Q: What's the overall quality of the game (graphics, UI, sound design, attention to detatils, game balance, bugs, etc)? The UI sucks. Massive downgrade from Wargame both in visuals and usability. Everything else is great Q: Wait, the balance is ok? First, it changes with every patch, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Second, yes, it is fine, especially when compared to other games in the genre That being said, is might be questionable at times Q: What's the best thing about the game? Immense strategic and tactical depth, as well as endless replayability Q: What could stop me from buying the game? The game's complexity is insane, it might take hundreds of hours before you start to understand what is even happening here The learning process is fun though, you'll discover something new every day. There is also an in-game tutorial to get you started Q: So, what would be the final recommendation? A truly unique 9/10 game with an actual 10/10 potential, strongly recommended for any strategist out there
