I didn't enjoy this game. With that said I don't think its bad. In this age of mobile deckbuilders and autobattlers its right up with that right appeal. The sight of massive armies of the thousands charging you is neat, but I felt like I wasn't doing anything. Hell, the last match was over 30 minutes long. I just don't feel like this game is a good use of my time, but its got the pvp, and the deckbuilding, and cards that the kids are all the rage for. It just doesn't feel like its made for me though. IMO, its a game that looks more neat to watch than to play. Watch a streamer play it. 6/10 Not bad and can see others enjoying it, but I don't want to. Not anymore at least.

Finished and enjoyed the campaign. It takes some time to master. Haven't really had the problems that negative reviewers had. Its a really good deep strategy game. Will take time to learn and not much online guides or wiki. Deck Building requires you to play spells that remove weaker starting cards from your deck if you dont you will lose. Its A bit like Dominion the table top game mixed with rts/tower defence. If you have the patience to learn then you will be rewarded in this game. 8.5/10 for me.

Currently 7 hours played. I would recommend. Don't think of this like SC, AoE, or WC. This is Tower Defense/Horde Survival mixed with base building/deck building. It's like a RTS without micro. I can certainly see some room for improvement overall is enjoyable. My biggest gripe is that your discard gets shuffled back into your library at the beginning of every round. It makes it very hard to set up combos when you can't cycle your deck. I would prefer it would be like most board games that use this same mechanic in that regard. Your discard should only get shuffled back into your deck after your deck has been exhausted or by effect of a card played. Removes opportunity for long term strategem. Otherwise love the game. EDIT Approx 24 hrs played. Love the game. Responding to my first comment, I actually don't mind how the system works now. The only time I really find my original comment valid is with some slow decks that are expensive that ride a thin wire of economy. Then it becomes frustrating when you can't ever seem to get the card you need because it's hard to cycle the deck at the beginning of the game. Beyond that few things I would love to see changed. 1) Please allow me to rebind the keys. I want to be able to put the F1 and F2 keys on my mouse (forward and back buttons). Or any other combinations, it's a must have in modern gaming. 2) When playing a card please make it unselectable. It's so frustrating trying to hit the submit button or play a building and the card scrolling by stops the flow. Maybe make the cards go behind the the card selection box (for discarding and destroying). 3) I would love to see color options like in SC or WC multiplayer. This game is fantastic. Also there is some micro but not regarding units. There is some real time aspect regarding casting spells or playing walls to reinforce or block pathing. Have Fun!

I don't typically write reviews, it's never really been my thing. For this game, however, I felt like I need to do so. There are not many people playing currently and the reviews so far haven't been the best. I honestly believe that is due to people not understanding the game. It is not an RTS, it is not a deck building game. It IS tower defense game with RTS and deck building elements. It takes a little time and playing to understand how things work. Once you figure it out, it is immensely rewarding. I truly cannot recommend this game enough if you like any of the elements it is made of. Once you have the hang of it, it becomes it's own thing and it does so very well. All other issues are due to balancing, and are already being addressed. I suggest trying this game if you're on the fence about it. I'm even going to give a few copies away on stream to try and get some interest generated in this, because it's a gem and it really deserves to be noticed.

I'll put this as a tentatively positive. Why? Well, there's some polish missing that other reviewers have noted (menus not stopping input in the game, building placement not feeling 100% there, SFX is hit or miss), but I do genuinely love the concept and ideas here. What really has started to grate is the abundance of, for lack of a better term, anti-competitive strategies. More than one game now has had one or more players pick Fay + Forged and completely turtle up, building multiple layers of walls in front the siege engines that will, with no exaggeration, one shot large clumps of even the highest tier units. I played a match for almost an *hour* against two other players doing this, the unit buff got to over 100% damage amp, and I still could not break them playing tech+forged myself. No amount of spell spam, unit spam, or any other strategy worked and eventually I got meat grinder'd down. EDIT: There are even more problematic strategies than previously thought. While some things are certainly annoying, I don't think anything matches up to "My opponent built 25 layers of walls and built up enough mana to one shot my core with spells." I legitimately do not understand how this made it through testing in any regard. It is completely unfun and unreasonable. Please, please address this kind of thing. I will be taking a break until updates are out. I have faith the devs can resolve situations like above, or maybe it's intentional, but it is for sure not a very fun experience. You may ask, why not try to target them down if they're just turtling? Well, the Battle Royale mode was set up such that I did not encounter them until it was me and the other two in the final 3. That's not a fault of the Battle Royale mode per se, but just to point out that I can't specifically target these players down, because I don't have access to them. It's a shame because I love so much of what's here. The pixel art is gorgeous, the concept is very fun (Reminds me a lot of WC3 custom games) and I think it deserves a fair shake. I really hope devs read reviews like mine past the thumbs up and understand what I'm trying to communicate, because I would love this to be a game I put 200+ hours into, not 20.
