spoopy version of plantera, but with no instructions and grindy achievements. i genuinely have aches and pains in my hand now after all the continuous clicking! but this game is addictive regardless....

I wouldn't call it relaxing, since you're frantically clicking to shoo away bats and collect bits of toad, snake, and snail, but overall, it's a cute game. I just wish it felt more satisfying. More than anything else, it just feels like a grind. Grinding to get more coins to get more animals (and subsequently, their ghosts) and more land.

Voodoo Garden is a relaxing management clicker with idle elements as long as the game is running (read the bottom paragraph for some unfortunate details on that). You plant 3 rows of crops, sacrifice animals to harvest crops automatically (each animal also has a passive ability that corresponds to what they eat), and place totems that attract critters. Click to collect everything that makes its way on the screen and start automatically selling voodoo-themed items based on the priorities you set for them. There's not terribly much here, but if you want a game running while you're doing whatever else on another monitor - this is a cute little contender for that. I cautiously recommend it. Know what you're buying and really think about if this is something you're going to enjoy. Read on for a weird issue that might dissuade you from buying even though I do recommend this title for a specific type of person. This game has a similar issue to Triple Town in the way when you leave it running, it slows down over time. After having it on for an hour or so, I'll notice the frame rate flirting with 40-50fps on my 1080TI, the problem only worsens over time, I've seen it as low as 20fps. The game is running in windowed mode at only 1080p, and restarting the game fixes it. I think it's called a memory leak but I genuinely don't know. The frame rate also seems tied to the actual speed of the game, so 20fps wasn't just ugly looking - the game actually appeared to be running slower in my experience.

Endearing little idler, which is comfortable to leave for hours and fun to check back in on. Does involve some animal sacrifice, but don't worry, the little ghosts help you (I didn't realise this at first, and thought they were eating the objects instead of harvesting them. I'm a dummy). The art is really nice and consistent, the flow of the game is logical, and I like that you can level up each of the different items you get, so that you can effectively choose your own path forward - whether your prioritise expansion, totems, storage space, spirits etc. is up to you. Ultimately you'll unlock all of it, but having choice makes the pathway progression feel nice. The game doesn't explain anything initially, you just start harvesting. If you miss anything obvious (I did), you'll then get tooltips to help presumably once enough time has passed. I thought this was a thoughtful addition. Overall adding this one to my faves! I suspect it won't be a super long idler, but I like that. Great aesthetic, and someone really thought through the pacing / grinding / idling balance on this one!! Hope to see more from these folks :D
