its a pretty good arpg, well worth its price. had a lot of fun for the fist couple hours, but then the game reaches a point where it shows its weakeness, mainly in the reward loop. enemies become sponjes, your leveling up make things worst and theres not enough reward to keep going. in games like old diablo, they solve this problem with different things, like sockets and gems, and I guess the transmutation was supposed to help in this aspect, but it was very poorly implemented. there are other interesting concepts in the game, but they mostly came out shallow, like they were testing the waters with this game. for example, the "hex" concept, where you can pick and choose different aspects of handicaps to increase the difficulty is interesting, but, again, the rewards of using one are barely worth it, outside of people chasing achievements. badly implemented, it ends up barely used. also, the "twist" in the story can be seen from a mile away, its a fairly bland tale. still, for the price point, it offers plenty of fun. 6/10

One of those games with unbriddled ingenuity grafted upon solid basic-gameplay features. On top of that, as if just a side hustle, it does a fantastic job in the atmosphere and telling department. 12/10, as far as ARPGs go. 12/10, as far as any game goes! This is pure, crystalline fun.

I love this game, from the cool music, to the sarky comments from the mysterious narrator. I love how the game has gone in a new direction with weapons. It also has co-op multiplayer, which makes the game even more fun.

First: I'm very sorry, because I was completely wrong with my first review to Victor Vran! My complaint was that it wasn't verified for Steam Deck at all, because Victor didn't do anything, despite all my imputs. But then, very lately, I realized that all I had to do was to activate the Gamepad mode instead of the keyboard mode. Now it works like the awesome game I knew before, and I just can recommend it highly! It's such a worthy Action RPG jewel in Diablo style that I didn't miss anything. Just the free selection between warrior, mage, crusader or other types of characters isn't included, because Victor himself masters all skills. But the bottom line is it's the same at long last. I just enjoy it exactly like I enjoyed the Diablo games. So I just can say: long live the top down Action RPGs!

absolute hidden gem. if the same team was given a huge budget to make a sequel, it could be among the best in the genre. the variety and flexibility of builds in this game lends itself to creativity, allowing you to mix and match tarot cards (a sort of mod system in the game), demonic powers, and a large host of weaponry to create your perfect playstyle. leveling up expands your tarot card capacity, health, and various other factors that make the progression feel very significant. if you can brave the difficulty modifiers, leveling up moves at quite a fast pace, allowing you to sometimes come out of a difficult battle much stronger than you were when you started fighting. what particularly sets this game apart from its competitors is the ability to jump. it might sound like a small thing, but the mobility provided by your ability to jump, walljump, and vault yourself through the air with your weapons and abilities completely changes the dynamic. i hope that some other developers learn from this. the game also has a small modding community (emphasis on small) that has created some easy to use mods that breathe fresh life into various aspects of the game. in my opinion the best way to play is with the Real Legendary Weapons mod, which makes the unique weapons of the game feel even more unique! however, the game is very enjoyable and has a large amount of content without requiring the use of mods, so this is only a small bonus overall. tldr; if you enjoy games like diablo and torchlight but thought to yourself "this could use mario 64 style walljumping" this might be the game for you.
