Sept. 2024

Came back to this game after a long time and finally noticed what a hidden gem it was. In a time where the farming/cozy genre is getting saturated, this game truly was and still is a breath of fresh air. It introduces a seemingly similar gameplay of grinding, farming, gifting, unlocking bundles, but done with a vastly unique style from Stardew Valley and most farming games. The setting leans toward sci-fi colony building, and the fact you can combine seeds to make them grow faster or yield more is extremely fun and unique. It's an old game, but is still very fun and refreshing compared to all the other same-y farming games.

This game was captivating and super fun to play. If you like harvest moon, stardew valley, and rune factory but with a more science fiction twist, this game is an absolute gem. It looks beautiful and really artsy, and really is a fever dream to play. Definitely recommend if you're into things like this. I just wish there was more honestly because I finished the game in like ten sessions.

It's a very engaging game to play, with good characters and a lot to do to keep you busy. It's not hard, but a lack of available information is kind of making things harder for me. The WIKI is light on info, like someone gave up on it right after making it. Now I'm stuck because my inventory was full when I completed a collection for Wyatt and I missed getting some things I likely needed to continue onward. I'm giving it a 'recommendation' but all in all it's an older game with what looks like almost no support.

I enjoyed exploring an alien planet, unlocking more colonists and experimenting with the crop gene splicer. The graphics are vibrant and simple with a fairly unique art direction compared to others in the genre. The character sprites themselves are probably the weakest part visually but I liked them. I found the gameplay really easy and quickly completed the game (excluding marriage). I loved seeing all the alien life designed and hidden around the map. The fishing mini game was more fun than most, reminded me a little bit of Lost in Blue’s on the DS. The characters are interesting and worth your time befriending to learn more about them. The main story is pretty short which can be a negative for some. As noted by others it is LGBTQ+ friendly. If you found SDV and similar games stressful this one is more relaxing. Whilst it is a Farming Life Sim like SDV, HM, SoS and other game inspired by them it feels less like a copycat than most. Maybe the setting helps as you are colonising an alien planet instead of moving to the countryside to take over a farm?

it's fun and i like it. sure it's got a few issues, like the lack of tutorials for certain mechanics making things a bit confusing (like planning your wedding), or that it feels like there should be a bit more going on, and sasha's level 4 event not giving me anything even though it apparently was supposed to add something to the wardrobe??? but overall it's a nice fun game with a nice story, the characters are nice and rounded out and don't all feel like flat cardboard cutouts of the same guy with different hair colors. i really love how dialogue changes based on what you've done, the genetics mechanic was a really cool idea and is fun to play around with, the cast is VERY diverse and interesting, and the planet is really cool. i just wish we could explore more and maybe have a few more colonists + buildings! this is honestly the first farming sim i've played where i've actually gotten to the ending! i'd say maybe 8.5/10, just needs some polish :) and i WILL be doing more playthroughs
