A Cozy Journey Woven in Yarn Unravel is a game that I played back in 2022, then completely forgot about it. Fast forward to 2025, I decided to revisit it, and frankly, I enjoyed it way more than I expected. I even ended up 100%ing it. It's a 2.5D puzzle platformer game that heavily emphasizes its presentation. The visuals are definitely its main selling point, super gorgeous and full of detail, to say the least. The art direction alone, in my opinion, is what carries most of the game experience. The story, I found, is…okay-ish, nothing mind-blowing or anything. The narrative is explained in a similar fashion to "Inside, relying mostly through visuals and symbolism, focusing on themes like memories and connection rather than using dialogues. The music, however, deserved every praise it can get. The use of adaptive music greatly complements both the atmosphere and gameplay elements. It's chill, it's dramatic, and sometimes can be melancholic. Basically, if you're looking for an atmospheric, short and cozy 2D platformer, Unravel is a solid pick. It's best played slowly after a long day, preferably in a comfortable setting, and top it off with a nice warm cup of coffee or tea. The game review aside, Unravel is unfortunately also plagued with EA App. Honestly EA, please stop adding this abomination into every release.

Unravel-1, feels like a quiet evening game. You move slowly, think gently, and enjoy the world one small moment at a time. There’s no pressure to rush—just soft music, beautiful scenery, and simple puzzles that let you relax while playing. It’s the kind of game that makes you lean back on the couch and breathe a little easier. Warm, peaceful, and surprisingly comforting.

You ever just swing from a dandelion like a red ninja while the world’s all blurry and thinking, “Yup, this is where I belong”? That’s Unravel. It’s like the world said “get cozy,” and the game said “bet — I’ll knit the whole forest to your screen.” You can lasso beetles to pull boats, bounce off mushrooms like trampolines, slide down raindrops like a waterslide, and tie yarn bridges over puddles like a damn engineer. And there’s one little Yarny, unraveling as he goes, leaving a red trail of hope behind. It’s quiet. Beautiful quiet. Things I love: The world feels like a living pop-up book. Yarn goes swish swish. Puzzles go click in your brain. Yarny makes you feel like a soft superhero. You can dress him in a scarf and no one judges you. Things I don’t like (but I still love it anyway): Sometimes yarn runs out mid-swing… splat. Only 11 levels — I finished in one night. I cried over a mitten… it was rude. Final Words: This game made me whisper “aww” out loud in my room by myself. If you want cozy, clever, and a little heartbreak, play this. Swing everything. Fall a lot. Feel more. Score: 10 outta 10 yarn balls I don’t know where I’m going but I’m having the best time getting there. Recommended. Yarny’s small… but he’s everything. 🧶❤️

Unravel is a beautiful and captivating adventure set in a world full of charm and quiet emotion. There's a gentle sadness in its story that slowly unfolds as you play, and it touched me more than I expected. I truly enjoyed every moment of it, and I believe every fan of meaningful games should give it a try. Paying for this game is by no means a waste — it’s worth it for the atmosphere, storytelling, music, and the emotional journey it offers. Unravel is one of those rare games that stays with you even after it ends
