There's a lot of good things I can say about Underdogs, from the art style, to the combat, and even dialogue. However, I'm particularly interested in how Underdogs addresses a core problem in physics-based VR games, specifically those with weight simulation like Boneworks & Bonelab; the disconnect between the player's real body and their virtual body. (i.e. you're waving around a near weightless controller effortlessly IRL while your character's arms are having a seizure in-game because you're trying to swing around a sledgehammer with one arm) Underdogs addresses this issue in a really simple, yet clever way; the mech. The player character's arms and the arms of the mech you're controlling are displayed at the same time. Your avatar himself is waving around controllers which then controls the mech, so this disconnect is still present but is no longer immersion breaking and instead serves to enhance the player's immersion. Imagine for a minute you're actually piloting a mechsuit, unless there are some kind of hydraulics to keep the user's arms consistent with the mech's (which can be potentially extremely dangerous if the mech's arm is bent past human capability), there is an expected disconnect between the mech's body and the pilot's body kind of like Pacific Rim. You can still see your avatar's arms following your real arms, but the mech itself is what is interacting with the environment so any disconnect between you and your avatar's arms and the mech's arms is now expected behavior instead of the usual "oh that's not supposed to happen" when the player's body bugs out in other physics-based VR games with body simulation.

Probably one of the best games on VR. Hand's down. There's a lot of trash you gotta sift through to find a good game when it comes to VR. This game from the concept, the execution, and the gameplay. The dev's hit a homerun. Mech brawling done right. My only wish is that it was longer. But the dev roadmap has a ton of promising content that I am more than excited to see. Just buy it.

Not my kind of game, but when you play it you realize that it's really good. That's how VR games should be. The attention to detail is insane, the the world around you is awesome, evrything is so cool! If you have doubts about it I will recomend you to give it a try. You won't regret... *Tested on a Valve Index

While most physics based vr games play like Pacific Rim 2, this game feels like Pacific Rim 1.

Probably one of the coolest and fun VR games I've played. Only an hour in and the gameplay loop is just instantly fun and engaging. You can pick up a robot dog and smash it against little spider bots and then throw it into the grinder. I don't think many games let you do that so smoothly as this game. Also this is like, an actual full game? Not just a tech demo, like most VR titles? Crazy.
