As an avid fisherman, I appreciate this game for what it is. The visuals are decent enough and the mechanics are easy enough to grasp. Where this game really shines for me is how it makes for a very relaxing decompression game. You can earn money to buy more gear and tackle, or earn EXP to increase your level and unlock new areas. While this is not an arcade fishing game like Sega Bass Fishing, it does not have to be. The game is fair in the sense that you need the appropriate gear, tackle, and line to catch bigger, better, and badder fish. What is even more neat is the fact this has online multiplayer so you don't have to solo in your fishing excursions if you don't want to. In fact, if you have friends to get into this game with you, it really brings a more personal element into the mix. All in all, I would give this game a chance if you really enjoy fishing in your free time and want an angler's fix when you are you have an itch that need to be scratched. As a gamer I give this a 7.5/10, but as a fisherman i gladly give this game a 9/10 just due to the fact there are not that many fishing games out there that put this level of detail into their product.

I'm not a fisherman, never been fishing, nor been interested in it. That said, I bought this in the last sale and I am so glad I did. The scenery itself is relaxing enough, but fishing in this sim is a great way to spend an hour or two. I really like it. The guy who refunded because no one was there to hold his hand and tell him the triggers on the controller cast and reel in/out, while the thumb sticks allow you to walk around, is obviously the type who should just stick to Minecraft. The simplicity of the controls is something any 5 year old could figure out within 5 minutes. The mental illness of young folk today is worrying - and refunding, when you paid $1 for this game in the sale? Seriously? Get a grip man. Awesome fishing sim.

Finally, a game that lets you live out the excitement of sitting still and being ignored by fish... but without the sunburn! Why bother with real life when you can digitally fail at fishing too?

I have over 350 hours in this title under the VR title, and over 20 now in this version, that does say VR, even though the title is not VR. I have all DLC's, and they are worth adding. The Best VR Fishing Game Currently available. I have played every VR Fishing game available with the Vive, Rift, and Quest, on the PC and PS4. This is by far the better of them. I do not normally play this out of VR, however, overall it is just as good to me as Fishing Planet while out of VR. I am looking forward to the phases being completed. Multiplayer is awesome, however, you can't see your buddy fish or catch. You do see the stats of the fish when they catch it, and their body is a capsule... It works perfectly, but a bit different than multiplayer in a fishing game like Fishing Sim World. (BTW Fishing Sim World is not VR) So as far as VR Fishing, this is it! There are a couple of things I would love to see added. A FISHING ROD CONTROLLER, on any modern fishing game would be nice. I am currently working on my own rod and reel in RL that will attach to my vive controllers. I play with friends using discord, would be nice to have audio chat built in. What would REALLY set this game apart, and put the bar high for competitors, TOURNAMENTS! Let us easily connect to tournaments with a simple "join now" interface, and track the results, plus, the results could be on a separate leaderboard or, on the current Leaderboards. either way, Currently we can play in a tournament, the interface needs simplified, so we can play with strangers, and mute or prevent them from chatting if they are rude kids... This is the best VR Game available...

Probably the best fishing simulator on the market for now. While the mechanics is lackluster compared to say, Fishing Planet. it has one thing that most fishing game doesn't. Relaxation. Look, when i'm playing a fishing game i just want to cast my line out. Catching whatever eats with whatever bait i think will work best, or to target a fish that i like. I don't want to think about repair costs, temporary licenses, and making profits to surpass the expenses. And this game provides exactly that, sure. Equipment & maps have a price to it but it's more manageable. Not to mention that you can play this game OFFLINE, most fishing games seems to be online-based now and it worries me should the the game be no longer supported. Only downside is the small amount of content in base game, BUT the dlcs are cheap especially on sales.
