The story is situated on Mars. It starts where UFO: Aftermath left off and runs simultaneously with UFO: Aftershock. While the Laputans on Earth are fighting Wargots and Starghosts and finding out what caused the destruction of their home planet, a small colony on Mars is trying to survive and flourish.

If you're craving for more X-Com -like gameplay, this might be a good candidate. +The save game system is quite smart, you select a 'profile' from the main menu, and each one has its separate saves. This reduces clutter a lot. +Decent variety of weapons +Only 1 base to manage, reduces micromanaging -It's not always possible to determine which techs give you an immediate advantage (unless you read the wikia page and guides) -No way to mute annoying characters. A much older game, Jagged Alliance 2, even got this right. -Path-finding and auto formation will result in units clumping together, manual micromanagement is often necessary. Gets especially bad with the heavy suits. -Somewhat repetitive missions, especially towards the late game. Variety of enemies and random spawn locations of enemies helps somewhat. Feels like this would have been sooo much better if the developer had polished some aspects of the game, but still can be enjoyable. Buy it when it's on sale!
