A very simple and charming game with somewhat childish humor and sometimes a bit dark, but still funny to me; it's a short game and the mechanics aren't anything special, but it's quite entertaining. Basically, we are a little Turnip who has been evading taxes and now that our house has been seized, we have to work for the mayor doing odd jobs – sometimes suspiciously shady ones – discovering secrets, and helping other vegetables in town. Despite being a simple game, I feel that it is well-made, entertaining, and worth playing for a casual, relaxing, and distracting little break.

Great humorous action exploration. + Cute characters + Great humor in setting, happenings, characters, dialogue, progression + Optional dialog with many characters providing great humor + Great progression + Great variance * 2.5 hour playthrough * The weapon swapping should have been implemented with better controls, but it's manageable (time stops while you open the weapon swap menu, which you need to do even in-fight/with enemies approaching) * I didn't find everything obvious to solve (I had to look up the acquiring the sub, and if I had paused I'm sure I would have forgotten other connections I learned about earlier that only become solvable later) * Endless mode after story completion

This game is great and fun. It's short enough to complete within a day, yet detailed enough to tell a good story and build a world with many interesting characters. The gameplay feels a lot like a 2000's Legend of Zelda game, but has modern pop culture references that are done with just the right amount. In addition, the achievements are extremely reasonable and you can tell that the developers respect the player's time in the game. You can obtain all the achievements without feeling like you have to grind for them. Overall, this game is an excellent example for showing how players can be respected through thoughtful game design choices. The art is also pretty cute.

Committing Tax Evasion has never been this glorious! This is a quirky, lighthearted and most importantly criminally underrated Tax Evasion simulator. You play as Turnip Boy, a vegetable of few words with an intense hatred towards all things made to rip. As you wander through a whimsical post-apocalyptic world where veggies have taken over you encounter strangers, dangers and easily tearable objects on your way to dodging the most heinous of all taxes.. It is a lightweight game with adjustable difficulty and a big heart. The humor is parts great, parts grating, but altogether wholesome. So yea, give it a spin if you find the pixelated Zelda-esque gameplay intriguing, personally I would happily recommend more anarchic games of the tax evading genre..
