Terrible game stay away What the hell are you thinking? Do you want to play a game about network issues? Are you somehow into ports and adresses and subnets and all that stuff no soul understands? Stay ignorant. Ignorance is bliss. Network optimization is the peak of optimization hell. Stop looking at the quirky robots, and oddball setting. Go away BUt if you must, Tunnet is a First Person exploration game with adventure elements and "build a messy computer network" elements. Don't worry if you know nothing about networks, you will become an expert very quickly. It's set in an underground complex of bunkers, shelters and other locations. There are many levels to dig tunnels through. Your main task is to run wires and connect computers. You can also fetch things for inhabitants or interact with them in other ways. The depths are creepy and there is a horror feel to the game but the creepy stuff can be turned off in the settings. The horror that is the network itself is entirely your own doing, so it cannot be switched off but it can be optimized. And how. You know how in games like Pharaoh/Caesar, Transport Tycoon or Factorio you often reach a point where you realize you could rework a lot of things and make them run better? That is certainly a big part of those games but just a part. A problem to solve so you can deal with the overall problem. Well, aside factorio where solving problems is cause, reason, effect, solution and purpose. But it's still just one part of gameplay Tunnet is ALL that. Only that. You make a mess, and you figure out how to un-mess and re-mess it. It's entirely made of growing a complex network. And it's amazingly ... not cool, not fun, but fascinating. It's brilliant. Oh you can buy a screw, pray in a monastery, ride a train, find torn pages of a manual, and fall in lava. You can even be hacked to death. It's a unique world to be in. It's not dull at all. The core of always learning new ways to make your network better is wrapped in a complete, and tasty game But you will learn about networks. It's gross. When you start thinking about using filters to shut up some computers that send way too much garbage to the network, you realize you've gone too far. And need to stop. I just write this warning for you then get back to the game. I have an idea. I don't care! i dont walk my dog i missed my bus they fired me why game i dont care ...

wow. so i just spent like 6 hours playing tunnet today. this is game is incredibly good. its bizarre, upsetting, confounding and addictive. it took me about 4 hours just to figure out how the game works. this may sound frustraiting but isnt that exactly what you want from a puzzle game. the information was in my hands the whole time but i had to play to solve it. this game is NOT for everybody. this game was created just for ME. thats why it has only all the stuff i love in games plus an art style that is so nostalgic that its making me remember my childhood, which i try never to do. so i cant say you are gonna like it. in fact the odds are that you are gonna not like it, cuz my taste is niche. i like retro computing. i like network/node based strategy games. i like 1994 era 3d game graphics. i like puzzles that mimic real technology. this is that game. its brilliant.

Everyone joking about their networks looking scarier than the monsters but I'm legit scared just by the monsters... Anyway, great game, unique blend of optimisation/puzzle aspects within a horror atmosphere with very fitting graphics. Also it's made in Rust, the best programming language known to mankind as of 2024, which should alone be a reason to buy this game.

Certainly a unique experience and perhaps a good inspiration for other developers on what kind of games are possible or desirable. Essentially you create a rudimentary network of information packets that travel along wires between terminals and various endpoints, shepherding them as best as you can with what the game gives you. And while you certainly don't need to connect everything or even half of everything to finish the game, it certainly is fun making a complete network. My only complaint is that the horror elements like the monsters are just frustrating rather than scary and run counter to almost every other game element.

Fun game about finding buried facility rooms and figuring out how to network them together. The game has a large map broken up into segments that could all be networked together, but it is not required to do so to get enough capabilities to complete the story. Wishing it had some kind of Endless mode, the networking puzzle is fun enough in its own right that it left me wanting a bit more depth, or a reason to push its capabilities to the max.
