This game is a Trojan Horse. It first presents itself as a comedy game that capitalizes on how horrible you're going to be at it when you first start. After some hours of practice however, it slowly becomes one of one of the greatest rhythm games available right now, and I mean that sincerely. Both phases of this trick work because unlike most rhythm games that merely simulate the experience of playing an instrument, Trombone Champ turns your mouse into an actual instrument itself, and it's an instrument that you can master. Spend enough time improving your scores and laughing at how bad you are, and eventually you'll be shocked to find that you're starting to sound GOOD. The scoring in TC almost becomes superfluous after enough practice, because the real reward is hearing yourself play a song perfectly and knowing that nothing made that happen except for you. That's the unique appeal of Trombone Champ that it shares with very few other rhythm games: it's just as satisfying as playing an instrument because that's exactly what you're doing. Except here, the early pain of sucking at a new instrument is redirected into comedy. Instead of getting frustrated, you laugh until you cry and then keep going. Buy it, play it, finish it, mod it, start downloading custom charts. I could gush about this game for so many more reasons but for now, I'll just say that this is a perfect game and Holy Wow should be insanely proud of what they achieved

Definitely one of the most fun experiences I've ever had within a game, it takes about 6 hours to finish the game's hilarious story and I was fully expecting to stop after that, but after installing mods and entering and small but incredibly wholesome and dedicted community of trombone champ players, I truly fell in love with the game and spent an unhealthy ammount of time playing the game! (I'm addicted) The mods are easy to install with r2modman that even me (someone who never modded a game before) was able to do it and there are some pretty good mods, most notably, the mod that allows you to play custom songs! Overall for how much this game costs I'd say this is a game you definitely don't wanna miss out!

coming from an actual trombone player irl. this is insanely accurate to the point where it is scary. even if you get the notes perfect they still sound like crap! game is definitely more fun with new music added during updates. if you're looking for a rhythm based game that isn't that hard to control, i recommend trombone champ. - sincerely, a trombone player.

THIS GAME IS TOP TIER. At the moment of posting this review, I will most likely be playing in my last school concert with my in-hand trombone; before I move on in life...without the bone. This game doesn't replace the feeling, it only advances it. I love the variety of tunes, the trombone sounds, colors, and of course, THE BABOON. That Baboon/Mandrill jumpscared me more than it should have, but we're cool now .I'll miss my physical trombone, but i'm glad I can still play in spirit. If you're a TROMBONER, I definitely recommend this game. May us Bone players unite with glory.
