Great train simulator with great amount of content for the price. Graphics may not be the best, but it feels great to drive. Highly recommend.

Train Crew is, probably, the most extensive and complete simulation of Japanese rail operations on the market. Created by an actual rail professional (former station attendant and conductor), it doesn't represent any specific railway or line, but instead takes every part of rail operations from different ones and carefully builds from them a railroad with it's own set of rules, which, if existed, would pass every certification and inspection and would successfully operate. Of course, the inspiration comes from somewhere. Fictional Tatehama Electric Railway rolling stock takes inspiration from different railways across Japan, with a huge part coming from Odakyu Electric Railway, while the signalling and safety suite is almost identical to the one used on JR lines. The player can adjust some procedures and visuals to suit their familiarity or experience, like a pilot light or buzzer signal styles. The trains look and feel different, cabs look simplistic but every meaningful switch is functional. There are no simplifications, albeit the game does help you by providing more information than most drivers would have, but even that you can disable without issues. Driving is involved enough and fun, no one will correct your mistakes for you, so backing up after overshooting the platform is a thing. The stopping accuracy requirements depend on platforms, the sim also awards you for using the correct braking procedure. The conductor mode is a gem that anyone should try at some point. You get to operate the doors and the PA system, check the train surroundings and ensure that the driver doesn't do something stupid. You don't need to watch the tracks, but ultimately you end up doing more, and it's really fun and educational, and develops a good deal of respect to rail conductors. One thing that many train sims omit is actually teaching you how to do things in depth. The "school" section in the menu is very extensive and teaches you everything you might need to know. If you still would have questions (and you would), the official community links are right in the main menu, and people on the server, including the creator himself, are very nice and friendly. So yes, this sim may not have the graphics of TSW or DDG'20, but the depth is unmatched. And all for a very reasonable price. Must have for any railfan.

Train Crew has changed my mind about less than geographically "real" open worlds ... it has helped me so much on my other Japanese sims ! And it will only get better ( i have confidence in the developer )

Still in Early Access, but this game already gets a lot right. The content could be more varied if you ask me, but for now it's like a PC version of Densha de Go, but you can play entire routes instead of going from station to station. I like it alot. Playing it with the ZUIKI Train Controller. Must have if you ask me.
