Super Fun! This is not my usual type of game. I typically play FPS games like Insurgency: Sandstorm or Alyx, but I've been trying to expand my VR library and saw this on sale. I've played city builder games in the past like Sim City and Cities Skylines, but they've never really been able to hold my interest for very long. This game for some reason has me hooked. Before I knew it I had 7 hours in and just can't get enough. It's slow paced, on the smaller islands you do a lot of watching, but once you get to the bigger ones there is a lot more to do so it will keep you busy. For example trying to keep your hunters from crossing a bridge into an area with wolves that will kill them... I was constantly picking them up from certain death and placing them back out of harms way while waiting for my soldiers to come. I'd lost multiple hunters before I realized what was happening. All the while having to balance your workers, food and other small management things. Overall it's just the perfect pace for me and I really love the supreme being aspect. The game holds your hand quite a bit in the beginning, but as you progress you're more on your own. I've had to restart a few times due to getting ahead of myself and building one thing before another was done and getting stuck. Overall if you like a slower paced city builder that looks great and is very intuitive, I highly recommend this, especially while it's on sale, but it's worth the full price as well! I've been playing with the Quest 2 and the settings cranked pretty high, wireless steam link and it looks and plays perfect for me.
I've got a ton of VR experience and I have to say this one is up there. The game looks and runs really well and it's just a cozy experience. The biggest downside is that it's really slow and things take a long time to happen and it's hardly any challenge, but it's really satisfying to grow your town and watch things happen and the campaign is nice so far. A huge bonus is that it controls exactly like the Demeo games, so basically it's familiar, to me, and perfect in that regard. I highly recommend it.
