Current Take on the Game After over 45 hours of solo play, it's quite clear to me that the game is going to be something that provides enough of an engaging experience to be one of my favorite open world base building and crafting games given the fact that the terraforming, ecosystem management and traversal features have the depth necessary to meld well with the rest of the gameplay elements. While there are still some QoL areas worth short-term improvement and some more balance related considerations when it comes to resource harvesting and general itemization, as a roughly 1 week Early Access experience, it's definitely been more positive than negative. This is especially true given the three patches the team has rolled out in that time to deal with a good chunk of the issues reported by players so far. They certainly have their work cut out for them in terms of cranking through the roadmap they have laid out for the next 18 months or so. But at least for now, I'm not concerned at all that they will make the progress needed to give solo players more than their money's worth with this title. For more of my granular or detailed observations you can check out the comments for the review as well as my [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3369002638]guide . Initial Take on the Game From the eyes of someone playing singleplayer and skipped the account setup/login and went straight to playing the game: Looks to be a fairly promising open world base building and crafting game with a strong focus on terraforming and world building. If you've played or watched gameplay of Planet Crafter and Wildmender then you'll be pretty familiar with the core features. Right away you'll notice that there's more combat than Planet Crafter and more creature interactions than Wildmender. Noteworthy Features Magnificent art style producing amazing visuals for the buildings, landscape, flora and fauna. Starting quests as you interact with the crew that crashlanded with you on the island are pretty straightforward and naturally walk the player through the steps to start re-establishing a vibrant colony. You'll feel a lot like a gardener and builder more than anything else, with combat and exploration mixed in. Excellent traversal mechanics by allowing the player to climb objects and creatures, ride mounts while also providing a glider for long distance elevation based journeys. After all, what better way to enjoy looking at the life you are restoring to your ancestors' homeland than by slowly gliding over it from a birds-eye view! Terrain and landscape variation are quite expansive as there's towering cliffs and stone formations as well as flatlands and deep oceans. Allows creature taming, non-violent resource collection and other interactions besides just killing fauna for resources. In addition, these creatures occupy the land, sea and air regions of the game world. Bow fishing instead of your typical repetitive timing-based mini-game! Presence of the Withered as a looming threat that needs to be dealt with in order to fully restore all the regions of the island. Feature rich [url=https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2178070/view/6256157311436324906?l=english]roadmap that appears to have either a new region, biome, or other major feature coming out every quarter as well as eventually offering offline mode and enhanced co-op. Can play in singleplayer without setting up or linking to an Epic Games account. Nice sort of "little things" occur as you play. For example as you harvest certain flora little creatures will pop out and run around doing their thing. When you plant seeds, similar things happen as well. Other Observations Currently requires a link to Epic Games for peer to peer multiplayer. Limited character customization. Not the kind of co-op that supports dedicated servers where multiple players can enter the game and immediately start playing and progressing with each other. Rather you can essentially visit someone else's world and perform most of the actions that don't involve influencing the ecosystem directly. When building a village, the structures are pre-fabricated, so you won't be in control of individuals walls, floors, the roof, etc. You also won't be able to walk inside most buildings. Colossal trees and several core buildings for each village type can't be moved or removed after they have been placed. Make sure you choose wisely! At the very start of the game you can encounter aggressive little wither spiders (hit pretty hard relatively speaking) that can kill you before you finish making your first tools. You can easily outrun them and the death penalty is just teleporting you back to the village with about 1/4 health. You can heal from eating berries and roots, so shouldn't be that big a deal. Overall though, if the terraforming and world building aspects appeals to you, then Towers of Aghasba is certainly a great candidate to try out. However, depending on your requirements for offline and/or co-op gameplay it may not meet your standards until later in 2025.

i would recommend this game: reasons currently, its pretty, i am getting lost on exploring the world. and honestly its pretty relaxing. and the devs so far have been releasing updates and taking in feedback. The game presents a promising concept; however, in its current state in early access lacks immersion, resembling more of a point-and-click experience. Players cannot interact meaningfully with animals, and the combat is relatively easy. The withered nests, which re-spawn without consequence, diminish incentives to remove them. This leads to a feeling of detachment from the land, making it seem more like a resource collection game than one focused on restoration. The game is disappointing for those who enjoy revitalizing environments. Enhancing the difficulty of eliminating withered nests and establishing a connection between amity levels and land restoration could heighten engagement. Overall, the game feels devoid of depth, lacking the immersive experience that players are seeking.

With over 10 hours played, with all settings on EPIC, ZERO crashes, and very few bugs, I can say with 100% certainty that this game is incredible! Absolutely stunning! Cannot stop playing it! Forget all those bs reviews of childish people throwing a fit that an early access game isn't "polished and flawless", wake up to reality, your instant gratification seeking will get you NOWHERE in life. This game has restored my faith in game devs. The world is stunning, the gameplay is smooth, the combat is good, the creatures are other worldly, oddly adorable some even derpy cute! The progression, seeing the landscape change around you is awesome! It's giving Shadow of the Colossus, Monster Hunter, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Princess Mononoke/Totoro Vibes and I am ALL FOR IT! There's so much to see and explore! I find myself climbing atop a high rock sometimes and just turning off my hud, gazing into the distance, taking it all in. (screenshots.. I have SO MANY!) They did a fantastic job at making you feel so small in this ever changing environment. Have I reported a few bugs? Sure! Were they game breaking or somehow ruining my experience? Absolutely NOT! Some even made me giggle! It's an early access game, stop forgetting that. The Devs are fantastic! They want to hear your feedback and suggestions! Instead of raging and refunding the moment something doesn't "just work" (thanks Todd Howard) actually become a part of the change you wish to see. Report bugs! It's as easy as pausing the game and clicking "give feedback". Actually EXPLAIN the issue and don't be a D***! Giving feedback to Devs that are ACTUALLY LISTENING is an invaluable part of building a better experience for everyone, as the game grows and evolves over time. I cannot wait to see how everything looks and feels moving forward! Thank you for reading! PS. The Devs are people with feelings and stress too, just like anyone else. Stop being a D***.. Use your big words, not "GAME NO WORK, ME NO LIKE, FIX! ME REFUND!" Bruh.. give useful feedback. Yelling insults and rage isn't going to help anything. Some of you never matured, and it shows.

For those who can't log in and have a black screen at the start. To get the Epic login working. (The game has been updated with a Hot fix for this issue on Nov 20th) Right Click the game in your Steam libary > Properties > installed files > Browse > click the Towers.exe to start. (The game needs to be started this way each time you play, until the Devs fix the login issue) ---------------------------------------- If your having a black screen Right click the game in your steam library and add -dx11 to where it says launch options and start the game normally. People are saying that fixes the black screen thing, although it makes the game look uglier. ( For now until its patched the MP/Epic login will not work if you have to start the game this way to play it.) Thank you to Delenca and Arteir in the "cannot log in thread" for this info I posted it here so its more visible to people. Edit: To play MultiPlayer mode, it unlocks further in to the games story.

This is a keeper of a game! The negative reviews didn't sway me because 1. Look at time spent in game. and 2. I wasn't looking for multiplayer right now. I haven't seen a game at early access launch where multiplayer ever worked properly. They are working on it. Honestly, I was expecting just another generic run of the mill open world survival craft. I was pleasantly surprised to instead find a deep game about balance with a rich lore, cut scenes with thought and care, and an excellent soundtrack. I love the strings and drums! You won't think the game is beautiful when you first start playing. It's barren and empty. It's supposed to be! Resources are very scarce before you get your first big tree up. However, once you it is up, things start to come together more. Someone mentioned playing Wildmender instead - love that game - but it is different. There is a certain shallowness to Wildmender that Towers of Aghasba doesn't have. A lot of care and thought have been put into creating and balancing this game. Here are some tips: - Fiber: there is never enough. Constantly place common seeds down to keep a steady supply of plants growing that will produce thatch and fiber. Don't use all of your common seeds though - as they are also used for growing lettuce in the farms. - Initially it can be difficult to recognize gatherable flora resources because the green triangles are so small. I used fences to create an area next to the farm for my "fiber" plants. The type of plant or tree you get is random when you plant a seed. If you are farming resources, always plant them in the same spot. While trees are easy to see, fibrous bulbs aren't. - Combat: It's a pain in the beginning. Run away until you get a spear. Don't bother trying to hack things with an ax - it's ineffective and a waste of durability (which needs fiber!) Once you get a bow and spear, combat becomes easier. You can switch weapons while running (PRESS R if you linked it to the wheel). Small spiders, equip weapon while running away, turn around and smack them. Large spiders, keep your distance, let them spew their poison which is easily avoidable further away, and then fire off an arrow at them. It may take two hits, but this is the best way to do it. - Feed the animals! Great source of resources. They don't just drop poop! - Explore, but also do the quests as they unlock new things - such as a campfire to make food. Hint: Salt is near the sea. - In addition to weapons and tools, always keep some form of food (to heal yourself) in your inventory. Cooked meals heal a lot more than roots. - Occasionally, you will come across a wounded animal. The remedy varies so you might not always have the items on you, but try to heal the animal because it gives 20-40 amity. This game is about balance! Don't try to horde stacks of items because inventory management is an issue like with many games. Don't be afraid to hunt animals for meat and hide, but make sure you heal wounded animals, plant flora, and remove withered cores to replace your amity. This is a great game! If you are curious, ignore the negative reviews! The overall design quality, art, music, and game loop are definitely worth the price.
