Immersive ship and land battles from the Napoleonic era, great upgrade on Empire Total war. Though would have loved to have seen the same scale on the campaign map.

My enemies are many, my equals are none. In the shade of olive trees, they said Italy could never be conquered. In the land of Pharaohs and Kings, they said Egypt could never be humbled. In the realm of forest and snow, they said Russia could never be tamed. Now they say nothing. They fear me, like a force of nature, a dealer in thunder and death! I say: I am Napoleon, I am Emperor.

From meticulously detailed units to historically accurate campaigns, the game is a true delight for history enthusiasts. Immersive Campaigns: The single-player campaigns provide an immersive journey through some of the most pivotal moments in history. The strategic depth and attention to detail make each campaign a unique and challenging experience. Strategic Depth: The game excels in delivering a deep and rewarding strategy experience. Managing your empire, diplomacy, and engaging in epic battles requires thoughtful planning and strategic acumen. Visual Appeal: Despite its age, the game's graphics still hold up well. The attention to detail in unit design and battle landscapes adds to the overall immersive experience. Cons: Unit Control and Camera Movement: Admittedly, the unit control and camera movement during battles could benefit from some improvements. This aspect may pose a slight learning curve for newcomers, but it doesn't overshadow the overall gaming experience. From a seasoned Total War player who played Napoleon for this first time after owning it for years: Napoleon succeeded in serving as a proper successor to Empire. In terms of "DLC turned AAA title" games, (ie Atilla from Rome2, Pharaoh from Troy, etc.) this one seems the best. It solves most of Empire's bugs, while also consolidating the map from such a large undertaking prior. On the contrary, one could say it lacks a grand campaign. However, it makes up for this by providing a diversity of smaller campaigns (which would be released separately as 15 dollar DLCs in todays world). Although I bought it at full price, it's currently on sale for dirt cheap, and will probably provide you a more fun experience than some of TW's newer content. I played it just long enough to make this conclusion, and will probably go back to playing either 3K or M2. A "must try" if you're intrigued by this era
