I cannot begin to describe my sheer love for this game. It is peak gaming for its time and we have not seen anything like it since. Countless hours after school spent playing this absolute gem. Don't remaster, don't remake, don't even come near it Ubisoft.

Things you need to do before launching the game: Delete the Punkbuster folder in the game's files otherwise you might not be able to launch the game. Also put the FPS limit via NVIDIA Control Panel to 60FPS (or 30FPS if you can stomach the speed) with v-sync on otherwise your character's head bobbles and you sprint up stairs. Once you do that (and put up with some jank) you get to enjoy one of best more action focused tactical shooters ever made. Terrorist hunt in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is one of the best PvE experiences you'll find in a tactical shooter even after 16 years of being released. It's worth playing for this mode alone. Lone wolf on realistic difficulty will give you an adrenaline rush few modern shooters can match. Vegas 2 also has one of the best progression systems in a military shooter. No matter if you're doing the campaign or terrorist hunt you earn XP to get more weapons and gear. I miss the tactical depth of Rainbow Six 3 (and probably still my favorite R6 game) but the action here is top notch. While I don't hate Rainbow Six Siege I definitely prefer/miss Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

To everyone leaving negative reviews due to servers' shutdown, you can still play the game by hosting a LAN game and using a program like Radmin to play with your friends. Worked like a charm for me and my buddy both in campaign and T hunt.

Terrorist hunt will never get old, unlock customisation and weapons based on how you play. the official online servers are dead, but the LAN still works and progression is not based on online functionality. classic uwu.
