June 2025
Rainbow Six Extraction was a game that promised a lot. I pre-ordered it on console and then bought it on PC later. From my perspective, the game was interesting and fun. It definitely wasn't for everyone, though. A lot of people who tried it were used to PVP mode in Rainbow Six Siege, so they didn't really like the PVE part as much. Basically, it's an extraction game, just like the name says. The way it works is pretty simple: you go into an area of a map you've picked, complete three objectives, and then you leave. That's how you 100% your mission. There are different enemies, which are like an alien race with various types. When a bunch of them are in one area, it makes the game pretty challenging. You can also complete the zones using stealth, which I'd say is the best way to go. The game has a bunch of characters, I don't remember the exact number, but they're all from Rainbow Six Siege, since they're in the same universe. There are lots of weapons you can customize, and each character has their own special "ability." They can also carry secondary gadgets like stun grenades and other unique grenades for this game. The game offers about four maps, which are split into zones. I don't know the exact number of zones per map, but there aren't many. This makes the game feel repetitive because you're doing the same things with the same characters on the same maps and the same objectives. Even though there are different objectives, there aren't enough to stop it from feeling repetitive. There are also 4 difficulty levels. Obviously, you have to start with the easiest one to get how the game works and level up your characters. Leveling up gives you benefits like more health or being able to carry more gadgets. But the most fun difficulty is definitely the hardest one. The game also has a "ranked" mode, which is honestly the most enjoyable part of the game. It offers a real challenge with limited medical kits and ammo boxes. Plus, there are "mutators" that change each round or zone, making things a bit different and sometimes easier or harder depending on what you get. Now for my final thoughts: I personally enjoy these types of games, and I was really looking forward to this one, especially because of the old Rainbow Six Siege "Outbreak" game mode, which is why this game even came out. However, things didn't go well. I'd even say the game died because it didn't have enough content and the developers didn't really take care of it. I'd recommend watching some gameplay on YouTube first. You should only buy this game if you know you like this kind of game, it's on sale, and you're aware that you probably won't find matches because it's a dead game and no more content will be released. In short, it's a game that had potential, but I'm sad to admit it's dead. Still, it's a game I love, so if you end up buying it for some reason, don't hesitate to add me to play!

The game is good, it's just unfortunate that ubi just released the game and then just gave up on it. If the game received updates i believe that the game wouldn't be in a constant state of having around 20-40 players daily. quite upsetting as it's one of my favourite games currently

damn, extraction's fun, but development stopped. no new operators. All i can think about is having some more operators that would be incredibly good for this.

great game, downfall was because it was marketed towards siege players.

Criminally underrated. People slept on this game. One of the only games of it's type that actually has a great single player experience. Even if they shut down the multiplayer tomorrow I would still say to grab it on a sale. I get the all the downward thumbs; Ubisoft could have done a lot more with this, but what's here it super fun. There goes my credibility.
