Sigh - such a classic beautiful game. My first PC gaming shooter. The perfect military campaign in the early 2001. My love for Russian conflict ever since Goldeneye. This game was my first online PVP experience in it's perfect lag! But we didn't care, we fought anyways excited to see what happened to the enemy and ourselves. My name Recon/SilenceR came from Ghost Recon. This is where my PC online gaming life began. Even before STEAM - I was playing this off a CD!!!! I still have the poster, the players guide and the original gaming box!!!!! God bless Tom Clancy and may he RIP. What's even more awesome is in 2008 I actually joined the US Army and eventually got to work and fight side by side with GreenBerets in Afghanistan - my profile picture is on the Firebase in 2010!

Still one of my favorite FPS games of all time, and every bit as good as I remember. It's part shooter, part strategy game, and a tactical mistake means death, especially on the highest difficulty. Half the fun is analyzing your objectives and deciding which roles, loadouts, and team assignments to use. It offers a kind of slow, thoughtful gameplay that no other shooter has been able to replicate for me. The expansions are great as well. Also one of those games that uncannily predicted the future.

This is easily one of the most unforgiving video games in existence. Everything happens in real time, so you need to be quick on your feet and use every single tool the game gives you or you will NOT even get past level 1. The visuals have aged but the game play is still buttery smooth and incredibly challenging. A masterpiece of a game from a time when video games were much more of an art form than a profit generator. The Ubisoft that made this game no longer exists </3

This truly needs a remake! Reliving the good old days with this one here. This is not for the faint of heart however. You WILL DIE if you treat this like CoD or the Newer Ghost Recons. You have to be slow and plan your moves methodically. Though there's no control support, DON'T WORRY! I've made a control scheme for both Xbox controls and the Steam Deck that 99% Works just like the OG Xbox version from 2001. That 1% is for the ZOOM. To zoom out, Hold R3. That's the best I could do for that. I've shared it for all to download! Also if you don't know, if you decide to buy all three as in, This one Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon Island Thunder, And Ghost Recon Desert Siege. You don't have to start them individually. Once you have all three bought and downloaded, you can hide Island Thunder and Desert Siege from your library. All three games are connected so when you start just the OG Ghost Recon, you can access the campaigns and maps from the other two all in one spot EASY. The closest game we have to a game like this in modern times is Ready or Not. So if you like Ready or Not, any SWAT, and any Classic Rainbow SIX, then you're going to love this with no doubt in my mind.
