Completed 100% Overall grade : 7/10 The game is an "indie" souls-like, mostly taking inspiration from Sekiro. If you have played any of the middle tier souls-likes such as Mortal Shell you might have an idea what to expect. It's no Lies of P for example. PROS : - Fast paced combat - Talents that you can change at any time. They are also powerful yet plentiful, so I was able to make one build for the rest of the game - Custom healing flasks, something never before seen in a souls game. You can pick either a fast weaker potion, a normal one or a heal-over-time one. Additionally you can craft and add secondary effects to give yourself buffs. Very cool. - Plague weapons - basically your Sekiro prosthetics but there are tons of them and they don't use an annoying limited currency. - Interesting bosses that are somewhat challenging and fun to fight *when the game responds properly* CONS: - Level design - There are 3 levels only, being recycled a few times. They are built as a maze structure making it easy to get lost and a nightmare for finding collectables even with a guide. They are also completely monotone, the first one is yellow, then red and finally gray. - Repetitive enemies. All the enemies are variations of soldier#1, maybe with a different weapon and a few pieces of armor. Occasionally you will run into minibosses that are, you guessed it, the same enemy just with more hp and damage. There are a few different enemies here and there though so that's nice. - Occasional jank - the parry, interrupt and dodge system sometimes decide to just not work, making it especially annoying on bosses. *MINOR CONS* - the graphics are mediocre and flat with your character and bosses, as well as their spells being the only detailed things. - absolutely no cosmetics, armor or weapons to collect other than the plague weapon shards. - a 100 journal entries to collect that are usually just 1-2 sentences that often repeat each other - no voice acting whatsoever, not on the bosses or on the 2 only NPCs that you meet. All in all it's a decent game to grab on sale. I had fun with it even though getting the 100% trophy caused quite a lot of frustration

A little bit of Bloodborne atmosphere with Sekiro deflecting gameplay but has its own unique mechanics, the SOUND EFFECTS is a chef's kiss, making every hit feels more satisfying to land, too bad the game is a bit short and not really much bosses to play around.

It's a good Souls-like game if you don't expect much from it, the enemies are repetitive and the overall game time is short... but I think the strength of the game is its very attractive combat, which diminishes those flaws to some extent. it is definitely worth buying at a discount

Thymesia is a game that, while flawed, remains an enjoyable experience if you approach it with tempered expectations. It’s not perfect and has its fair share of jank, but it manages to stand out in its own way. The game is on the shorter side, featuring four main bosses and four optional ones, which feels limiting. The level design, with its linear progression, is reminiscent of Dark Souls 2, but it lacks the intricate world-building and beacon/bonfire travelling. While Thymesia can’t compete with the giants of the genre, it still offers some solid gameplay mechanics. The graphics are decent, and the developers clearly prioritized enemy AI and boss animations, particularly the emphasis on deflecting and claw-based attacks. Combat is engaging and rewarding, but there’s a lingering sense that the game could have been much better with a bit more polish. For example, the potion system feels unnecessary and underwhelming—it might have been better to focus those resources on fixing bugs, addressing glitches, or expanding the game with additional bosses and content. The game feels like it draws inspiration from Sekiro and Bloodborne, blending those influences into its own unique style. While it doesn’t achieve the same heights as its inspirations, it still offers a compact, satisfying experience for fans of the genre. Overall, Thymesia is an enjoyable game with clear limitations. I’d recommend picking it up during a sale or when you’re looking for something to tide you over between bigger releases. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a fun, flawed gem worth exploring if you manage your expectations.

Decent game, not for everyone, you wont find a deep story, friendly characters or comfy gameplay, this is just you, your reflexes and the enemies. The parry system is what made me finish this game, you just have to be patient, learn the patterns of the enemies and then, CLONK! CLONK! CLONK! pure satisfaction, my best advice to have fun here is to become the parry king. Not a spectacular game in any aspect but a thumbs down would be unfair, have fun friendos.
