"They Breath" is like being shrunk down to the size of a fly and forced to navigate a pond full of existential dread. The frogs are like the hipsters of the aquatic world – all like "I was here before you, human, and I'm still breathing" while simultaneously trying to drown you. In this abyssal game, I encountered a frog who embodies the very essence of existence: will to power, individualism, and the eternal recurrence. Croaky, the amphibian protagonist, is not simply a creature struggling to survive – he is a force of nature, driven by an insatiable desire to breathe, to live, and to transcend. Pro tip: if you start to feel like the frog equivalent of a millennial with anxiety, just remember: it's not the end of the world... unless there are more frogs.

This is one of the best games I've ever played, and the only game I would truly describe as an experience. It's so good at making you uncomfortable and uneasy, but it's never in your face scary or anything of the sort. It just tosses you into a ruined, parasitic ecosystem and lets you handle it yourself. No hints, no tutorials, hell, not even any real music once you've abandoned the surface of the water. It's just you, and the water + its many contents. If you know nothing about this game, i implore, no, i BEG you to play it blind. This game is an amazing horror experience, and should not be passed up, especially not for 2 dollars.

neat short game. cool little story. I like how the game lets you intuitively figure everything out, like what enemies want bubbles, what don't, and that before an actual bubble comes up a few background bubbles show up first.

The Goblin Crisis of 2033: Unveiling the Unseen Threat In the year 2033, humanity faced a crisis of unprecedented proportions – the emergence of real-life goblins. These enigmatic beings, long relegated to the realm of myth and legend, suddenly manifested in the physical world, posing a profound challenge to established notions of reality and science. The Goblin Crisis of 2033 stands as a testament to the mysterious and unpredictable nature of the universe, as well as humanity's capacity to adapt and confront the unknown. The precise origins of the Goblin Crisis remain shrouded in mystery, with theories ranging from supernatural occurrences to scientific experiments gone awry. Some speculate that a convergence of cosmic energies or a tear in the fabric of reality allowed these creatures to cross over into our world. Others suggest that clandestine genetic experiments conducted by rogue scientists inadvertently gave rise to the goblin population. Regardless of the cause, the sudden appearance of goblins sent shockwaves through society. These diminutive creatures, reminiscent of their mythical counterparts, possessed an uncanny intelligence and an insatiable curiosity about the world around them. Their presence challenged humanity's understanding of the natural order and raised profound questions about the boundaries between myth and reality. The arrival of goblins had far-reaching consequences for human society. Ecologically, they disrupted ecosystems, preying on native flora and fauna and upsetting delicate balances of biodiversity. Economically, they posed a threat to agricultural industries, raiding crops and livestock with impunity. Socially, their presence instilled fear and uncertainty, as communities grappled with the implications of sharing their world with creatures long thought to exist only in folklore. Attempts to contain the goblin population proved futile, as they demonstrated a remarkable ability to evade capture and adapt to human efforts at control. Traditional methods of pest management were ineffective against these elusive creatures, prompting governments and scientific institutions to explore alternative strategies for coexistence. In response to the Goblin Crisis, governments mobilized resources to study and understand these mysterious beings. Specialized task forces were formed to monitor goblin activity and mitigate their impact on human society. Research institutions conducted experiments to unravel the secrets of goblin biology and behavior, hoping to find clues to their origins and motivations. Efforts to establish communication with the goblins proved challenging, as their language and social structure remained largely unknown. Nevertheless, attempts were made to establish diplomatic channels and foster peaceful coexistence between humans and goblins. As the crisis unfolded, public awareness campaigns were launched to educate communities about the goblin threat and promote understanding and tolerance. Despite initial skepticism and fear, some individuals embraced the opportunity to interact with these extraordinary beings, recognizing the potential for mutual benefit and cooperation. The Goblin Crisis of 2033 served as a wake-up call for humanity, reminding us of the vastness and complexity of the natural world. It challenged our preconceptions and forced us to confront the unknown with humility and open-mindedness. The crisis underscored the importance of scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing emerging threats and adapting to rapidly changing circumstances. Moreover, the Goblin Crisis prompted a reevaluation of humanity's relationship with the natural world, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living beings and the need for sustainable and harmonious coexistence. It called into question the arbitrary distinctions between "real" and "imaginary," challenging us to reconsider our definitions of reality and expand our understanding of the universe. The Goblin Crisis of 2033 stands as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit in the face of adversity. While the emergence of goblins posed significant challenges, it also offered opportunities for growth and exploration. As humanity continues to navigate an uncertain future, let us heed the lessons of the Goblin Crisis and approach the mysteries of the universe with curiosity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to understanding and respect for all forms of life.

I still remember watching Markiplier and some other YouTubers play this many, many years ago. This game was one of the first games that I ever added to my Steam collection about 7 years ago. It is not a game for everyone, it is indeed an acquired taste. It is not the kind of game you would play expecting the most in-depth gameplay. In actuality, the gameplay is very simplistic here. All that you really need to do is to swim into oxygen bubbles to survive, but be very wary - as you will soon find out that you are not alone in those murky depths. My personal favourite part of this game is how well the hand-drawn art-style, the limited lighting at further depths and the ambient soundtrack succeed at creating a truly surreal and unnerving atmosphere. I also like the element of mystery here. There is absolutely no explanation for anything that occurs in this game. Instead, it's left to player interpretation which adds to the already unsettling nature of this game. For $2.19 Canadian, you should absolutely consider giving this game a go (especially if you are interested in psychological horror).
