Play it while eating shrooms. And you should be over 16 just to fully appreciate its thrilling kafkaesque longwindedness. Dear kids, if you are reading this, I swear this game is not boring, also I was talking about mushrooms, like from Mario, so you grow up big and strong and maybe you can even become a plumber and/or a Princess of your own Mushroom kingdom too, depending on the current economic situation, whenever you should be old enough to be reading this and playing this game. Well, i still hope you will have Internet in the future young one...We had really cool stuff, like this game called Stanley Parable. It really goes on a tangent, I tell you, but it is worth every precious second, minute, hour of it! Have Fun with it while you still can! Why are you still reading this though? You are too young to be playing this! Do your Homework! Now! Love from the Past.

If you catch it on sale, the original is worth playing! Playing the original before playing Ultra Deluxe could be fun and interesting, so that you really appreciate all the Ultra Deluxe jokes about the first game and can spot all the new stuff more easily. Ultra Deluxe really is a sequel in many ways, built on the bones of the original. Also, some of the original visual gags regarding other popular games at the time were updated to reference more recent games in Ultra Deluxe, since the game would be coming out nearly a decade after the original. So giving this one a thorough play-through is recommended! Also, the demo is worth playing prior to giving this a go, as it's entirely separate from the game itself and serves as a sort of comedic prologue.

Last time I played this was August 2020 for 24 minutes. I want to play it again, but I'm relatively close to the "Don't play Stanley Parable for 5 years achievement". But from what I remember, the 24 minutes was fun. I'll update my experience in August 2025.
