A short and simple half hour horror game. That luckily didnt overstay its welcome. The game is relatively simple, walk dark corridors, kill the creatures, get what you need and then walk out again. The combination of dark hallways and having to swap between your flashlight and gun works really well. Your shots lighting up the hallways creates a certain level of dread when you try to shoot the monsters. And them running at you fast really makes the dread feel over the top. The dark/grey atmosphere makes it feel extra hard to distinguish between what is a monster and what is the background. And the colors you do finally see feel extra impactful. I do have some problems with it, the gameplay gets old really fast. with only 2 enemies (which have 1 smaller and one bigger varient) you always know what you need to do. The AI is also not always the best, as standing in certain spots will just make the AI walk a pattern instead of attack you. Because of these problems, the game being short is a good thing, as I think it would otherwise encroach on a tedious/annoying experience. Also, the final boss is very meh. It wasnt really a challenge or as impactful as I wouldve hoped. Overall, I can recommend the game. Maybe get it on sale. Just keep in mind that what you get in the first level, is what you will get for the rest of the game.

A short horror game made by David Syzmanski, the same mind behind Iron Lung, and DUSK. This story is gleefully gory and the entire game being greyscale is a beautiful artistic choice. The combat is decently well executed, but as usual its the aesthetics that make this game memorable. I adore it.

The Pony Factory Positives: + Monochrome, dark & gritty astetics + Good sounds and music + Nice graphics and lighting effects + The colouring parts + The atmosphere + Claustrofobic and creepy + FOV-adjuster + Nice gunplay + A proper menu with options Negatives: - Mostly the same looking corridor levels - Half of the game is going back the exact same way you came from - The other game modes are not fun enough for a second playthrough - Only one gun to choose from - Very short (over in under an hour) Conclusion: I can see where the inspiration came from, because the Doom 3 resemblance is quite strong. So if you like games like that, you'll surely like this game as well. There are some shortcomings though, so dont expect too much. But its quite entertaining for the hour it lasts. Total Score: 7/10

This was honestly a lot of fun and I can see how it technically ties into Squirrel Stapler and Butcher's Creek with some blink and you miss it references. I will have to check out Iron Lung and Dusk in the future, but this was a very nice run and gun horror game. My only critique is that there needs to be more medkits in that final boss fight room. There's also differing difficulty levels and honestly I wonder what mine was set up on because the boss in the end was like a bullet sponge. This was a lot of fun and i highly recommend for something short and simple.

It's essentially the same as it was in the DreadX collection, but with some minor improvements. If you liked it there, you may also like it in standalone form here
