They don't make games like that anymore. Truly the longest journey that has some sort of irony to the name mixed with a captivating story and great humor. Every little detail in this game shows how much of a labor of love that was. Have you tried changing the volume in sound settings? Have you listened to April Dub in the Book of Secrets. What a banger! Yes, the game did not age well and is very clunky by modern standards. It is also slower paced but in a way that you can just slow down and enjoy dialogues without trying to ADHD your way to instant gratification. Just sit down and enjoy this story. Don't forget to install TLJHD textures and use ScummVM to make the game more stable and playable. To my great surprise, this game is now one of my all time favorites.

A great trip down memory lane - I still have the original box and CDs that I bought ages ago - but I have one HUGE warning: SAVE YOUR GAME OFTEN! There are NO automatic saves, and two (or was it three?) times during my playthrough the game just randomly crashed, and I had to completely re-play HOURS of gameplay just to get back to where I was. BE WARNED!

This is a classic that I've had the pleasure of playing over, and over again. It's that fun mix of urban sci-fi fantasy, tempered with attention to detail, amazing characters, good voice acting, and philosophical thought-provoking moments. Does the graphics hold up? Mostly no, but you won't be disappointed by some of the beautiful landscapes that artists captured, and despite its wear, it's worth playing/watching at least once. :)

This is one of the best point and click adventure games I have ever player, One 100% a recommend. The story is great and its a blast to play. Not too much "adventure game logic" as well which is always a huge plus on my end. Interesting world pretty visuals (for the time) and good puzzles, What's more to ask? Howeverdo not play this version. Said very simply it sucks. There are graphical issues and crashes when writing saves that could lose you progress. The other version of this game legally available on GOG solves almost all these problems AND has 10X more settings you can use to try and fix when stuff comes up. If you are already playing this version I say switch. It gets worse and you WILL be thankful you replayed for a better experience. Also no save files are not convertable as far as I know.

One of the greatest adventures which I will be returning to forever... Leaving my review only to help those who experienced the same issue as myself, trying to play it on a newly bought laptop / Win11 etc. What saved me, and what I highly recommend to resolve issues with graphics, is in the Discussions area, called The Longest Journey HD Mod. Done everything as per instructions given, but it failed to launch properly again. I set Game 3D Renderer to OpenGL, ticked Filter Graphics and set Antialiasing to x16. Truly enjoying HD graphics now!
