A compilation of heartwarming and soothing short stories in a point and click game. Due to it's low starting price it's worth it without a sale, but sales happen semi frequently at 50%. Plus the first episode is free. Unlike many games in general The Lion's Song are prominently lacking in a central focus by design, every episode feels like a slice of life in different slices, yet all episodes share small but noticeable connections of each other, with the final episode finally tying everything up in a neat fashion.

Review for Episode 1: Silence First of all, I really like the pixelart. The reduced color palette reminds me of old photopgraphs which fits the time the story is set in. It's great to see a story about a female composer and her struggles without putting her in the spotlight as a woman but rather as an artist. Female composers faced hardships at that time (and they still do) and it's important to keep that in mind, at the same time it's great this story doesn't reduce her to being a woman. Portraying her as the artist she is, with all her flaws, dreams and struggles was heart-warming and I felt like this could've been a real story of an actual person. After your first playthrough you can see the percentage of other players who made the same major decisions as yourself which was really cool. You are also given the opportunity to jump back into the story right before every decision to change it and see the outcome which was not only great for getting some achievements but generally a really nice quality of life feature for people who want to see different paths of the story. The music was great, too, I really enjoyed the final song. Getting all achievements was a little tedious since you need to play through the game several times, but overall not hard, it took me less than 2.5 hours. I'm excited to play the other episodes, too.
