TLDR; have played/100% most lego games, this game rocks, especially for co-op and collection freaks. Dont expect lego worlds, its more traditional lego. Combat and Camera are not great but not deal breakers. Also skywalker saga sucks. So me and my son (5yo) have decided to play and attempt 100% of all lego games together. Currently we have pretty much played them all, with lego worlds being our favorite and the new star wars one being my personal letdown. With that said I have personally played every lego game before my son was born and then after his birth, finished my collection. + This game adds all of the fun parts of each individual game and mashes it together into a crazy collect-athon adventure that is quite hilarious and fun. I am not sure how much time this will hold our attention but the current outlook is good. Instead of changing characters like in most lego games to solve puzzles, you thematically are a master builder and have the ability to build stuff. A trampoline to get up high or a generator to apply power to a gate for example. +/- If you are coming from LEGO WORLDS and hoping that this will be an upgrade to that, go elsewhere. This is no where near as freeform as lego worlds but sometimes i think that is a good thing. -the camera gets stuck constantly and whips around in tight areas -the combat is pretty lackluster as a whole and it can be very easy to stunlock/get stunlocked to death +Bosses are creative and fun to puzzle out -some of the drops from chests will not pick up unless they finish "flying" out of the chest, on the moon map this is especially annoying because they can fly off into space +red brick cheat codes are wearable armor and weapon pieces (but my son doesnt like the top hat so no 2x studs for him)

I had low expectations before playing this game due to the mostly negative reviews at the time and reading that it's like Lego Worlds. I find this more enjoyable than Lego Worlds... probably because I don't enjoy sandbox games very much.

Hi, as a fan of the movie this game is based on, I bought this game to try it out. Before I start listing off pros and cons, let's make something very clear: this is not a typical lego game. It plays out more like an open-world sandbox game, like Lego Worlds. So, if you are looking for something more like Lego Star Wars, this is not that. So, without further ado, let's start with the pros. Pros: 1. The music is pretty good and upbeat. 2. The controls aren't that bad. They can be a bit finicky at times but that might just be me because I'm new to keyboard controls. 3. The graphics and the open-world create a pretty nice place to stroll around and role-play. 4. There's a ton of characters to play as and a lot of fun items and vehicles. 5. The gameplay is just fun little simple puzzles to solve by building or with another item. Plus, free DLC! 6. The combat is fun and easy to get the hang of. Cons: 1. A lot of characters, vehicles, and items are inside of these things called relics, which are randomized, so it can take a while to get what you want. 2. In this game, you can play as every single main character except for Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi. (my favorite character) So, that's a little annoying. 3. The story is very loosely based on that of the movie and there are a ton of contradictions. For, example, the galaxy map shows that Apocolypseburg is in the Systar System. That is not true. It is not a part of the Systar System in the movie. It also shows Planet Sparkles in another system, where in the movie it is in the Systar System. Also, in the DLC, the Queen's palace is in the Galactic Outskirts when it is clearly in the Systar System as well. Like, it's the palace of the queen of the Systar System. Also, when General Mayhem's helmet is off, she stills sounds the same for some reason, even thought she clearly sounds different when it is off in the movie. Like, they even say in the movie it changes your voice. 4. Speaking of voices, they don't have the same voice actors as in the movie, (at least I don't think they do) so the characters don't sound like themselves. Some sound close enough, like General Mayhem or Rex, but most characters with voice acting don't sound like the character. Conclusion: Despite the cons, this game is a fun, cute, and short game. Is it worth the original price? No, but good if it's on sale. I'd recommend this to any Lego Movie 2 fan who's looking for a just a fun little game to play around with. Please note this is just my opinion and yours may be different. That's okay, everyone is into different things, that's just how it is. So even if you don't like it, please don't yuck my yum. PS: If any other Lego Movie 2 fans are reading this, just know that you are AWESOME! (You'll also probably know the reference in my username) Hopefully, you also know now you are not alone. The Lego Movie 2 is so good! The Lego Movie 2 Videogame: Four out of five stars. Thanks for reading my review! I hope you found it helpful. This is my first game review, so that's fun! Party forever, Susan, a fan of the Lego Movie 2

This game was way better than I expected, just like The Lego Movie Video Game 1 no crashes, and unlike any other lego game I've played before I didn't need to look anything up about the game for help, it was all simple enough to do in game. I enjoyed a lot of the game and think the relics are cool, especially since they weren't as grindy as I imagined. Unfortunately the only things I really have to say about the game are negative because they're the only things that stood out to me. 1. Too many characters, no reason to use them. The only characters I equipped without being required to were the first couple I unlocked, and Wonder Woman because I like her. I guess it's like 1 character for everyone instead of every character for 1 person like in the first game. My main issue is that the characters are only cosmetic to my knowledge, but unique abilities or quirks are what make characters in lego games fun to experiment with. 2. Too many items, no reason to use them. I found myself using very few items, really only 1 to help with combat and the other was the lasso of truth because it's Wonder Woman's weapon 3. Combat. Some enemies were really easy but annoying, some others were for no reason super hard. I don't think there's really anything special, all you do is spam attack and hope you don't get stun locked. I found the rocket blaster was great but I unlocked it super late, the build attack thing was cool but seemingly random when it could be done, and not super accurate for killing. 4. Some bugs with camera angle, quests, specifically fetch quests, despawning animal requirements. I had to re enter places 3 times, due to things unloading / softlocks. 5. Achievements are too regular. at 100% you should have them all naturally, it'd be cool to equip certain characters or do some specific things like in LB3 or TLMVG. Overall though the game was simple to play, had cool new stuff, and was a good 27 total in game hours of playtime (DLC included). I'd recommend it to people who enjoy lego games.
