Very charming game with great story telling and a good sense of humor! I was surprised to learn that this well-polished game was created by only a few people. What an awesome job they did!

I just love this thing. It's probably telling that the things that stick with me are talking to someone through Socratic moralistic theory in the most fulfilling dialogue tree I've seen in a while, or the absolute thrill of getting ahead of something on a subsequent run. It's short enough that getting all the endings doesn't feel like a chore, but long enough that they feel fulfilling. I'd say it's more of a talky adventure game than a detective game, and it really gets the feeling of those old choose your own adventure books.

One of the best story games of all time. There are very few games like this--Serious, story rich, choices matter, combat-optional rpg's with mature art styles and philosophical dilemmas. It has multiple endings and non-linear questlines. It's also really surprising how few non-combat FPS adventure games there are. You'll remember it for the rest of your life.

As a casual gamer I wasn't sure about playing a game based on a Skyrim mod, but I'm glad I gave it a try. Really fun and engaging story with lots of twists. There's a small section of skippable combat, but even as someone who normally avoids that type of gameplay, I was intrigued enough by the story to give it a try. It was just the right level of challenge for a player like me and added some excitement to the experience (and was also definitely worthwhile for its part in the story). I have two critiques, which are 1) the game doesn't always seem to keep track of the choices you've made within a loop, which led to a frustrating progression softlock at one point (but I was able to reload and get it to work the second time) and 2) there's a big exposition dump at the end that drags on a bit, though I'm not sure how else it could have been presented without making the game longer. Overall pretty minor complaints that won't stop me from recommending the game.

Salve, friend! The Forgotten City is an amazing time loop adventure and probably one of the best-written games out there, with many surprises and twists along the way. You will not experience tons of action, but the narrative part of this game is phenomenal, and it’s best to play it without reading much about it. I am impressed that it was developed by a small team and yet it’s so well executed. It also offers four different endings; it’s a must-play!
