New Player Experience I highly recommend this game to anyone who can tolerate nudity and gore which is totally worth it during the winter sale you can afford this game in just $0.60. This can be just a survival game as you can turn the cannibals off on the main menu, but to me the cannibals are the meat and potatoes of this game and I find myself sorely missing them should they not come visit me a couple of times a day. The AI in this game is honestly the best Iโve encountered. The game now features different types of cannibals with tribes that will fight if you watch silently, but will mostly unite in their hatred of the guy deforesting their land, (you). The cannibals will still throw a couple of punches at each other if thereโs enough of them around however. There are starving cannibals who will try to stalk you to find out where you live and try to scavenge off any kills you make, scouts for larger tribes who will often simply run away to alert others of your locations, hunting parties (though Iโm pretty sure theyโre only hunting you), and cannibals just trying to live out their lives in peace that you can finding sleeping in camps or caves. Cannibals will duck and roll to evade attacks, climb trees to escape, light tennis balls on fire and throw them at you, wreck your base if youโre not careful, but theyโll also do things like drop effigies which you can catch them praying at if left uninterrupted, theyโll drag their wounded out of battle if they can, and will run off to retrieve others if you let them escape. My honest reaction as a new player! - Travel abroad by plane with your son Timmy - Crash - Wake up to your son being kidnapped by a naked guy I didn't see anything - Wake up, with whiplash - Loot everything you see - Eat all the somehow unscathed plane food you see - Grab some sort of passenger list - Forget about it - Find some drugs - Use the drugs - See the axe that's stuck inside the flight attendant - Pull out the axe (the way King Arthur would have done it) - Jump out the back of the plane and break open some suitcases - Start cutting some trees - Realize that you're the hulk by carrying two logs at once - Open the oh, so handy survival book that you just so happen to have - Start building a log cabin - Realize that it's going to take forever to build it - Abandon the building site - Find a new site and start building a new, smaller house - Continue cutting trees for the rest of the day - Hear weird noises during the night - Rustling in the bushes, someone laughing - Take a closer look - See the naked man - The naked man sees you - The naked man runs at you - Regret your decision - Panic - Run, fast - Faster - Eat, replenish your stamina - Climb, the mountain - Jump, into a lake - Swim - Swim - Swim till daylight - Run back to camp - Change pants Calm down - Go back to building, defense - Remember that you have a son Decide that you want to live 10/10 Would Recommend This Game! Fun survival horror game. The crafting system is simple but unique from other games, The exploration is great, wandering around the map finding new structures, items and caves is very fun and even tense because you never know when the weird, creepy cannibals are going to show up. Another point that i loved about it is the fact that new cannibals start spawning the more nights you survive, making the game harder and less repetitive. The npc's in this game are what really make it scary and immersive. Theyโre smart, theyโll sneak up on you out of nowhere, Nighttime is very eerie and makes you feel on edge the whole time. The storyโs not super easy to figure out, But the real fun is in the survival and building. I 100% recommend this game if you're into horror survival games.

For me, this is the best survival-horror game. There`s the playground when you can do whatever you want. Poison yourself with random plants and berries? Go on. Build the goddamn Big Ben? You surely can. Hunt cannibals and mutants to become the Doom Slayer on this island? As you wish. Set up traps for your dear friends? You got this, but i got no friends to play the Forest with, so i terrorize cannibals families. Horror aspect in this game is really impressive. I`d never forget my pure fear when you have to run through the whole forest filled with half-naked wild dudes in the middle of the night. But there`s something more scarier - caves. This game made me realize that i have speluncaphobia. It`s dark, wet, there`s bunch of creatures, human remains and unsolved mystery about this island. By the way, i recommend to find the rebreather at first, because some of places in the caves are submerged and if you jump into the water without the rebreather - you will die, suffocating in the darkness. The rebreather gives you air with air tanks and also gives you the internal flashlight. But despite all horror stuff, if you play the Forest with friends - it will be the pure comedy. I haven`t experience in the multiplayer, but i`ve watched Markiplier`s video of playing this game. In other words, you will suffer, but with joy and most often not your joy. So, about my experience - i played more than 100 hours. What i was doing? Spent days sitting in the base becuase i was so scared of exploring the caves. After fight with my own demons, i start to explore them. After that, i never was the same, i went wild. I`ve decided that i need all achievements, all side tasks, ALL in this game. And i still didn`t complete all of this. After finishing the game, after 150 days in the game (not real days, like "day" in the game`s time) i got interested in the lore of game and this is awesome, didn`t expect so much details. I highly recommend the Forest to play it just once and feel the beautiful and terrifying atmosphere of this game. Don`t forget to invite friends and set up the trap in front of the plane. This is the important ritual.
