> pretty normal galaxy > digital age Earth populated by humans > everyone gets addicted to porn > porn becomes a huge industry > porn megacorporations become dominant over the economy > the porn megacorporations militarize and become private military contractors more powerful than governments > earth is carved up by rival porn megacorporations > rival porn megacorporations set up surveillance states and implant people with brain chips > they go to war with each other > weapons of mass destruction are used freely on civilian populations > billions of casualties > the land is still > dolphins, unmolested by humans, spread throughout the oceans and evolve > years pass > the dolphins peacefully progress through the development of technology > dolphins unite in a high-tech democratic and egalitarian post-scarcity society > dolphins construct parallax ansible network connecting the galaxy > universal flourishing of all sentient life 10/10 game UI needs some work but it's worth the price of admission considering i've had fun on multiple runs and it's not even done yet

I'd call this a rather strange but engaging experience, and I suspect there'll be a lot of discussion over specific decisions within the game and its narrative. Player agency is deliberately limited to encourage meaningful choices, and I'm not sure whether I'd call it an extremely divergent visual novel with god game elements or a god game with major VN influences. I liked it, but if you want action in your games this isn't one for you.

A really thought-provoking and interesting game; I just reached an ending after ~4 hours and really enjoyed it. Some of the systems also don't seem that deep and don't allow for a ton of flexibility. You only have so much control, so you have to accept that some bad things will happen that you can't prevent and be along for the ride to some extent. But, there are a lot of possibilities and you end up with an interesting saga in your galaxy, as long as you accept that. There seems to be a lot of variety in the types of species that can evolve, and a good amount of care put into making them feel flavorful, even if mechanically they are similar. You can have aquatic species, species that live next to lava oceans, predatory desert birds, etc., which all have unique events. I had fun with it for sure, and look forward to trying another play through when it's out of early access.

A solid game and a must play for those passionate about exobiology, science and futurism and decisions making games or even god games. Replay value is a bit low...Worth playing a second or third time a few months apart or like a year or two later. Its just different and interesting and worth taking a shot on.

I was alittle skeptical from the reviews,(I understand they are before updates) however the developers seem to really love and put heart into this game!! i just bought it to see and try it out for i love space story based games... I played 8 hours straight till the sun started coming up 0.0 and I WANTED TO PLAY EVEN MORE!!!! (so i am now haha) however lets get to what you all really wanna know. GAMEPLAY: you get synthesis from flairs (white fancy space snowflake thingys) and negative choices (well choices that effect the race the event happens to in a negative light against what they have previously been leaning towards) which can be used to make choices, mainly for averting catastrophic horrible things... HOWEVER, if you LET the horrible things happen, you get a big boost of synthesis crystal stuff. which helps you for later on when the BIG BAD happens. Idk if its RNG because i still don't fully understand how much i can effect outcomes (though choices i make earlier do come up later which is awesome! ) but i do wish there was more an explanation on how the game correlates the synthesis and how it effects the resources (mainly how the resources get used and how they go up and down_ ) also the differences on selecting systems and what the synthesis does/effects planets and sentient species . I could go on and on but all i have to say. Even though it early GIVE THIS AMAZING GAME A CHANCE (and dont fall to in love with your species..... they tend to die off hilariously and horribly) I do wish there was more detail and i could effect certain parts of the traits (and know exactly what makes traits go up and down) but it may be implemented later. Recap. RNG but your choices can effect what comes up and what it costs, Fun, entertaining stories. click synthesis on different species till and event happens to make the gain/ lose random resources and to gain more synthesis crystals to spend later. and have fun. Wishes: I would love to see more choices per event, (more then 3) and direct what grows when a flair happens. Have it where the flairs are based on % on how they help and hinder, and that the ones that help the most (on a resource that is dwindling) cost synergy. For ones that hinder the most (on dwindling resources) give the most synthesis. I love the RNG so have the amount it effects still be random. but I feel that would give more control but not have it love we are controlling the races(because this is a God sim and we are just directing the flow, not controlling it)
