An honest to goodness hidden gem. I only know about this game because I follow a thread of new steam releases. I wish it had made a bigger splash because I think it's really fun. This game combines four things I love - map painting, urban legends, four-color comic style art, and penny dreadful morality plays. The narrator is an evil wish-granting machine that ties together the story of three protagonists who trade ethics for power through spreading fear and panic, then of course get their just rewards. Great stuff. If I had to nitpick I'd say the second story felt a bit short, and the legend cloning mechanic in the third story felt unnecessary. I also wish the nature of the legends you used played into events and such more. But those are minor concerns, the only real letdown to this game is that it's a shorter, smaller scale game that will leave you wishing there was a part two to play more of. I think it's priced fairly as is, but it goes on sale for 40% off during major sales if you prefer to wishlist and wait.

This game was a lot of fun, and I had a fantastic time 100%ing it. The art gave me a strong hit of nostalgia for my wayward youth sneaking off to read horror comics, and I loved the "evil Zoltan" stand-in for our beloved Crypt Keeper. Overall, it's a pretty simple game, with mechanics that look complex at first but are not too hard to master. Some elements (namely the audio 'scream' when a legend gets evolved) got really, REALLY old by the time I had chased down my last legend. However, the game itself is short enough not to overstay its welcome, and the fun of the lurid pulp tales kept me engaged. I hope the devs consider making an expansion. There are so many more spine-tingling tales of vice and villainy, death and depravity, magic, monsters, and mayhem to play with!

Really enjoying this game, it's been hard to walk away from. If you enjoyed Cultist Simulator or similar games, you'll find a great deal of enjoyment in this game. The stories are interesting, the strategy enthralling, and the game just has a great sense of style over-all. Hope to see some DLC expansions for this game.

It's not an overly complicated game. Very leisure, but can get tense at the end of objectives. Once you get down the basic mechanics (tutorial is bare-bones at best, but the scenarios all have special objectives -- but that's a good thing) Where the game shines is the voice acting and story lines. It's basically Tales from the Crypt/Creepshow meets card-based game. Amusing. Stories are basic, but fun. At the cost, it's worth it. Also ... politics of stories in game, very even-handed. Shows the hypocrisy on all sides. Well done walking that line. I do hope devs continue the concept, but give me some truly creepy stories for DLC.

The gameplay is maybe a bit lacking in some aspects, but I would recommend this game even only for its magnificent UI and art direction. Well done.
