Easily a forever game. There are few games that will do that. A forever game isn't a game with a lot of content, its a game with a lot of GOOD content. Stop buying new games that disappoint and buy classics like this. Edit: Better than Avowed

I swear, I spend more time modding & tinkering than playing this lovely gem. Back then I had been enjoying this beauty for hundreds of hours on another platforms. So far, I've downloaded and deleted more than 4 thousand mods around 400 GBs. Will eventually start playing the game continuously once I setup a proper smooth modlist.. Fingers Crossed. I Oh, the game? Absolutely 10/10. Despite of the game being released for the 97432nd time, still get's my septims nevertheless. Just.. try not to get overwhelmed by the mods.. Otherwise, you'll end up like me. Edit: I've found my dream modlist! It's: Nordic Souls. Literally the perfect modlist.

After 144 hours spread over 7 years of countless new playthroughs i have finally managed to not only complete the main storyline, but the dawnguard expansion as well. How did i manage to do it this time after so many failed attempts? Its quite simple, I took a left turn. Instead of following the intended path after escaping Helgen and turning right into RIverwood i decided to take a left. Instead of being faced with the same story beats and dungeons that I have grown familiar with i set out on a new path, completely changing my experience with the game. Almost instantly I met a new NPC who told me off the Bards College in Solitude, I slaughtered him for his clothes and set out for Solitude on foot to join the bards. On this journey i found locations that I never had before and I could truly enjoy the scenery as i walked the roads of Skyrim. Seing the whole game in a different light gave me the energy to push through the game until I finally managed to beat Alduin with my trusty axe wielding character Gus. In a moment where other games would have rolled the credits I was faced with only the roars of dragons and their fiery breaths I realised that all my other characters that I had made over the years weren't failures just because they hadn't reached the end of one of the games storylines, they all told their own stories, no matter how anti-climatic their ends. I now see how it is possible for a person to spend thousands of hours in this game, you can actually become anyone and do anything like i've always heard but failed to see. as an ending I'd like to apologise for the long and pretentious review but this game really means alot to me, and to the friends who introduced me to this beauty I would like to thank you and I hope you're well,
You never really quit Skyrim, you just take breaks. Yes it's that good, even after all these years.
It's difficult to ever feel completely satisfied with a gameplay session of Skyrim. There's always one more pressing quest, one more unexplored land, one more skill to increase. It's a mesmerizing game that draws you into a finely crafted fictional space packed with content that consistently surprises. Featuring the same kind of thrilling freedom of choice The Elder Scrolls series is known for along with beautiful visuals and a stirring soundtrack. Story There's a story, which guides the player's progress to an extent. It begins with an escape from the headsman's chopping block and then the player is cut loose in the massive world of Skyrim with the barest essentials in information about themselves and the land they now inhabit. As the player travels through Skyrim, they'll encounter dense woodlands, snow-capped mountains, majestic cities and crystal clear rivers that run throughout the map. They'll run into an assortment of interesting characters and battle a myriad of monsters. Skyrim is plagued on two fronts ā€“ by a bloody civil war and by the return of a race of dragons that, until recently, was extinct. The player is also aware that they are the last of a race called the Dragonborn, and they are also all that stands between Skyrim and its ultimate destruction. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2951729494 Mechanics As the player completes one heroic (and not so heroic) deed after the other, they get to grips with the game's deep and intuitive control system. The right and left triggers wield whatever weapon, shield or magic spell the player assigns to them. The inventory soon starts filling up with useful items that the player can use for a quick weapon change act in the middle of combat. Every time the player uses a weapon or a spell or skill in Skyrim, their profiency with that item or in that talent goes up. Once their overall XP hits the next level, they're able to assign a talent point to the skill of their choosing. In this way, the game rewards the participant for playing in exactly the way they want to. If you want to cut your way through the land using just a sword and shield, the game will ensure you become more proficient in doing so. If magic or sneaking about in the dark are more your things, you'll get better at both the more you do them. On top of weapons and spells, the player has an edge over most opponents in the form of their Dragonborn "shouts". These are magical powers that are acquired by reading runes carved into the walls of dungeons and caves the player will encounter, and which are unlocked with the souls of the dragons they've killed. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2976322171 Gameplay Players can spend away hours upon hours creating weapons at a forge, mixing potions at an alchemy table, enchanting weapons, chopping wood, practicing archery, investigating subterranean caverns or simply pointing their character at the horizon and heading over the nearest hill. They can buy a house, join a guild, marry an NPC or read every book contained in the library at a college for mages. Around every corner and at every new town they wander into, there's a monster to fight, a character to talk to and some new discovery to be made. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2976673574 Summary The amount of things to do in Skyrim makes the player feel like they're a living, breathing part of its world. Skyrim is a game that's easy to completely lose yourself in, because once you enter its world, it becomes your world. Playing Skyrim is a rare kind of intensely personal, deeply rewarding experience, and one of the greatest RPGs yet produced. 10/10 recommended.
