Now that I've finally finished the game, here's a update to my previous review. The story is exceptionally good and thought-provoking. Very exciting and not as predictable as you might think at first. Sometimes I was quite surprised. The graphics are a bit older and not the best, but that doesn't matter at all in this game. Nevertheless, the science fiction apocalyptic setting is extremely well designed with great attention to detail. The voice acting and sound are great. The controls are point and click. Sometimes it's confusing when the camera angle changes. Most of the quick-time events are super easy, but some require at least a little effort – but everything is doable and not too challenging. And, of course, you have to make decisions during the dialogues that affect the rest of the game – sometimes you only have a limited amount of time to decide. I bought the game for €1.49, which was a really good bargain. It was definitely worth it and I was really well entertained overall. There are also negative points that really need to be considered. Firstly, after completing the game for the first time, there is no option to skip the dialogues and cutscenes on the second playthrough. This is so incredibly annoying and really stressed me out. The other thing that was really, really exhausting and frustrating was some of the achievements. I would never have managed it without the community guides. Thanks for that. I'd like to give a tip here. Remember that you have 3 save slots available. My mistake was not using them properly. If you do it cleverly, you won't need as long as I did to get the achievements. And it's worth taking a look at the achievements list before starting each episode, because you don't want to have to restart the game over and over again like I did. I could have thrown up... I really wasted a lot of time. Overall, however, I am extremely satisfied. You can see that the developers have put a lot of effort into it and have paid a lot of attention to detail and story. For an indie game, it's very well done. I would love to see more parts or a sequel, because these kinds of games are just great for playing in between other things. If you're looking for a simple game with a focus on story and don't care about anything else, then you should check it out. Buy it on sale, and you can't go wrong.

Good Game. Don't know why it has a bad rep. Might have been over priced at release, is a about 5 hours long with not much replay-ability. But is worth playing the once. The story is good and kept me interested until the end. It was a good mystery finding out what was actually happening. You get an achievement for pretty much everything :) .

This game is not bad, it's interactive movie with puzzles and ok sci-fi story. The music is very good. Achievements are not that complicated and there are guides for them. Grab it on sale.

It's neither the best interactive movie out there nor the noteworthy game, but "The Descendant" is an ok adventure with some trivial puzzles.
