Sept. 2024

To be honest, i am kinda of impressed with this game. The history that this game is based on is simply amazing. I was just anxious to get to the next episode every time. The graphics are cartoon type and the history deppends on the choices you make. Every choice you make will have consequences on how the game progresses and what will be the end of the game. I highly recommend this game, buy the other episodes, it is worth it!

Short But Interesting, Completed the game in about 5 1/2 Hours, The Story is not bad However the graphics are a bit dated and the controls are a pain. Overall 7.5/10

There's non-environmental puzzles unfortunately (I never liked those) that are basically mini-games, and there's too many of them. There are no actual in-game puzzles other than finding a keycard to open some door or a battery for some device. If you're expecting actual, point&click adventure style puzzles, you won't find them here. The story is nice and keeps you playing, but the ending is a bit abrupt. Graphics are decent with nice atmospheric lighting. Game is capped to 30FPS by default (which makes the mouse pointer feel atrocious,) unless you unlock it manually through a registry edit (look it up on PC Gaming Wiki.) I ran it at 4K on a 4070 Ti Super and it stays locked to 60FPS 100% of the time, although GPU utilization is quite high for a game like this and of that age. It uses the Unity engine, so optimization is absolutely terrible. Back in 2016, so GPU could run this at 4K 60, which is why they locked it to 30. Fortunately now in 2024, it should be no problem. There's one big technical problem though. The clicking is broken. More than half you clicks to move the character don't register. You constantly have to spam-click for the game to register the clicks. So this is a poin&click adventure game where the pointing&clicking is broken... Yeah. And they never fixed it. But good effort overall. I enjoyed it, even if it seems it was made by people who don't really understand the genre. IMO, everyone who intends to create an adventure game should play Fate of Atlantis and Grim Fandango first to see what the peak of the genre is. It's a 6 to 8 hour game, depending on your play style. Episode 1 is free anyway, so just try it. The first episode it actually representative of how the complete game is going to feel and play like.

The plot is quite interesting, but if the devs are still looking into reviews, hear me out: 1. Performance on movement enhancement - I have tried this game and basically it's more controller friendly. The controls with keyboard is basically UNENJOYABLE. Even with controller the movement stick sometimes just feel janky as hell lol 2. The ability to fasten the dialogue? - There's a few part of this game that has a time-limit puzzle thing, but we aren't able to perform any action while the NPCs are telling us something. It's kinda irritating. Maybe consider something about it? I'd give the game 8.5/10 but the controls are kinda pissing me off so it's a 7/10 fr, please consider enhancing the game if you will. :) No offense.

An interesting toy, not a bad quest, there are decision-making branches, there are tasks with limited real time. You can’t speed up lengthy dialogues, you can’t skip dialogue, the controls lag with either the gamepad or the mouse and are sooooo crooked. Moreover, in some places the drama is so overacted that it begins to infuriate. The Descendant game is not linear and people's lives depend on our choices. It seems that this should have forced me to replay the episodes in order to complete them as well as possible, but due to the fact that the drama in the game was practically not felt, I absolutely did not care how many people would survive. In general, thanks to the developers for the game (I bought it at a discount). P.S. By the way, for complete relaxation, I advise you to play exclusively on a gamepad;)
