It's pretty good. A nice murder mystery with an overarching story that's interesting. The only issue I have is that I guess I'm just not that good at figuring out who the killer is as I really struggled to get through even the first case. When it was finally revealed after save scumming I realised it was definitely me with the issue not the game, the evidence was all there. If I had any criticisms it might be that the actual mind palace is a little difficult as it gives you false clues and isn't super clear on how it works until you fiddle with it for a while, but considering it one of the only actual mechanics I'm glad it's there anyway.

I can highly recommend this game IF you get it on a sale. The base price of 50 Euro is too high but if you grab it on a sale by all means go for it. Now lets talk about the bad the good and why i recommend it: The bad: 1. The controlls take some getting used to and could be better but once you do the game plays great. 2. Chapter 5 changes how the game is played and i am not a big fan of that section 3. Even the 4k Video has some artifacts The good: The game is long for an FMV game i think i spent 12 to 13h with one playthrough. But do not expect much replayability as this is a detective game and a very good one at that but once you sole the cases/riddles the mystery is gone. The cases and riddles are very good in this game. They are actually very complex and most cases could have logically unfolded diffrently and you will not always know which hypothesis is the correct one and who killed who etc. right away. You create hypotheses by combining clues from the story you played. The game will give you all in this phase so you can never get stuck. Once you are in the solving phase of a case the game however helps you a lot by giving you parts to choose from from the hyposethis you created this makes solving the case much easier then it would have been if you would have to argue the entire case/mystery on your own. Still the cases feel great to solve and are very intresting and are quite diffrent from each other. You play as a female author who gets involved with the Shijima Familiy and have to solve both murders in the present as well as in the past and how everything is connected by the fruit of youth. Its pretty cool how when you read books about the past you imagine yourself as a character in that world and play as them and once you solved the mysterys of the past you take that knowledge to the present where you use it to continue and connect it to the events of the present. The story spans over the time of 100 years and everything is connected. Its quite facinating. Once you finished the "last" chapter 6 the game is not actually over. After the credits you will see some more scenes and after that when you are back in the main menue you will get a sms which when you open you play the Epilogue which has some more mysteries to solve and again after the credits they show you a scene again. So do not hold down ESC for to long so you only skip the credits and not the additional scenes. I can recommend this game to anyone who likes detective games but only if you buy it on sale. For 20 Euros or below go grab it everything above is too much in my oppinion. My non romance FMV ranking: 1. Vanity Fair: The Pursuit --> Nothing comes close 2. Underdog Detective 3. The Centennial Case : A Shijima Story 4. Breakout 13 5. Death Come True 6. Late Shift 7. Bloodshore My romance FMV ranking: 1. Knowledge or know lady 2. Ouch! So many beauties! --> Most Sexy FMV get it on Epic 3. Charming Hearts 4. My destiny Girls 5. Secrets of the Heartbeat --> Buy on Steam Epic is missing Patches 6. Love is all around 7. Seduction of Beauty --> CENSORED on Steam buy it UNCENSORED on Epic 8. Beauties! They're All After Me 9. Customized Girlfriend 10. To Be In Love With Girls Group (the Chinese one) 11. My love with the GirlsGroup (Korean)

This was honestly a really good read/watch. Centennial Case manages to present an intriguing plot with a really interesting mystery that crosses time. You witness how Haruka, the main character, manages to solve the mystery regarding the Shijimas utilizing her smarts and the novels written by an ancestor of the Shijima family. Gameplay wise the game doesn't really shine, since the interactive bits of it are more of a drag than something really interesting. What I loved about this tho is that it's really unpredictable. Aside from chapter 1 I can't tell a single time I was sent into the "okay now figure it out" part having a single clue about what happened, but still managed to reason it out in the end with the help of the game. That's what a good mystery game should do and Centennial Case aces it. While the acting is not the best around, it's not terrible either. The actors are really stiff and almost feels like you are watching a kids recital. Anyway the more you watch the more you find it normal so it doesn't really hinder the enjoyment of the game. This doesn't mean the scenes are a mess though. There's actually a lot of care in the photography of every scene and there is no shot that doesn't hold significance to the story. Every line of dialogue has a clear purpose and there was no time that I felt like they didn't touch on a subject I thought deserved more attention, unlike some other mystery games out there (looking at you, my beloved Ace Attorney, you do this too often). Overall a solid recommend. I found both my money and my time well spent.

I haven't played a game like this since Star Trek "Klingon", a live action interactive murder/mystery game !? Sign me up. What I like most about it is that it keeps your attention for a very long time. You have to of course , clues pop up everywhere and the game does punish you if you do not pay it full attention. The acting is quality, it's not over the top, it's not to bland, it's perfect. I'd go into more details about the game, but I don;t want to ruin it for people who want to play it. I say, Dive in , enjoy a movie quality cast and story. I'll add more when I'm done, I have a feeling there is so much more to this then just what I'm playing, a more intertwined story is a foot I feel.

I really enjoyed this game! I did pause to make some calls & food, so this is probably longer than the average game time. The AV film style scenes were awesome to watch play out, the acting was pretty good. I had fun with the tile format for putting together clues to form hypothesis & at the same time this is maybe the only 'CON' I have for the game; Every tile you place takes you into a scene recap of how the clue may have played out- which took so long and repeated so many scenes, I began getting headaches around chapter 3. The "Skip" button, didnt skip the entire recap unfortunately. Forming paths with the clues you put together was cool, loved you could go back as many times as you wanted to check multiple connections! It was really fun how Chapter 5 was more first person escape room puzzles & actually wish it was implemented in more of the mystery. *One big thing Ive seen many comment about is the confusing or unexpected ending. This is something I just cant agree with! It was explained in the beginning the 3 types of scenarios they would be using through this story, including 1 very rarely able to be pulled off. They executed this very well, with a cute twist of "superhuman ability" .
