I enjoyed playing this and recommend it to fans of visual novels, especially if you enjoy detective / murder mystery types of stories. I have not yet played the *now fully translated to English* first DLC, but plan to buy it. Things to know: ** not as dark as many VNs out there right now, but tends toward darker themes ** - this is much closer to a VN than a point and click adventure; however... - there are puzzles, and you have to solve them correctly in order to obtain certain endings - the puzzles are either deciphering code, or "select the right evidence / dialogue" challenges (I enjoyed the puzzles, but some may not, and getting the right sequence for the "dialogue / evidence" is occasionally frustrating) - limited choices, but choices will significantly change outcomes - you need to get to the "normal ending" in order to gain access to the "good ending"; then you need to either restart or go back to the right save point to try for the good ending - the VN is fully voiced, which is great Recommended: - keep saves at various choice points; the skip function is quick, but not perfect - if you want achievements without a lot of replaying then you may want to check out the achievements before you play (I didn't find a convenient English walkthrough, and dislike youtube videos) Translation - one of the best translations I've seen for a Chinese VN - there are errors, but although one or two sentences confused me, the overall quality was very high; the translation managed to capture the feel and style of the game and characters, not just provide correct vocabulary and syntax (as another reviewer put it, the game feels localized, not just translated) **Devs: Thank you very much for translating** Overall: I've played better detective games, but the chapters provided in English were good stories with engaging characters, and the translation was better than most despite fairly complex situations

This was a very entertaining VN and should be appealing for mystery/suspense fans, especially people who like stories in the style of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Although some of the password-cracking minigames are a little irritating, they don't take up much of the overall story. The art is well done, character designs look good, and the little animations with expression changes make the feel of the game less "static" than most VNs. I played through for both good and bad endings and thoroughly enjoyed myself through both plays. The English translation is also well done with only some minor quirks that are really a nonissue to the story and don't break immersion (for me, at least). It bears mentioning that the first DLC, Inhuman Love, is also fully translated and very enjoyable. The other DLC does not appear to be translated at this time, so English-speaking achievement hunters should bear this in mind if looking for 100% completion. Overall, this is an inexpensive and well-put-together VN that is definitely worth a go for mystery and detective fans, along with the first DLC.

Positive -Good art, characters and backgrounds alike look excellent. Character animations are nice too. -Believable characters -Interesting story/mystery without any romantic side stuff -Fully voice acted (in Chinese), sounds good even if I can't understand it -Puzzles and interrogations are unique and enjoyable, as well as challenging without being too difficult -Good price for a decent length VN Negative -The English translation is spotty at best*. In casual conversations there are many grammar issues ("He are" etc;), but it is generally understandable. However, in certain story scenes where the language gets complex it becomes almost unreadable. I had to reread entire paragraphs several times to understand the meaning of a particular passage, which was made more difficult by the fact there is no backlog available to reread past events. -It's rather difficult to tell which decisions you make influence the ending without a guide. Overall though I really enjoyed this VN despite the translation issues and think it is well worth the price, and I'm looking forward to future episodes.

This is one VN that I really enjoyed. I prefer detective/crime/mystery/horror novels rather than the ones that focus solely on romance [they bore me]. The Adventures of Fei Duanmu 端木斐异闻录 is a detective/crime novel. You play as Fei, a student of criminal investigation. The game has 2 chapters/cases so far. The 1st one is short and basically an introduction to the mainly characters and the game style. The 2nd is longer and very interesting. You have a few puzzles/deductions plus you get to choose how to conduct some conversations based on questions/topics you can talk about. Loved the characters in general. There wasn't even one that I disliked. And the art style is awesome too. It's very well made and the characters are beautiful and pleasant to look at. The menu is clean and beautiful as well [loved the color choices]. The PDA function is easy and add a nice touch to the game. Glad it was translated to English and the few grammar/spelling errors didn't bother me at all. I got so caught up in the game that I didn't even care. More chapters will be released according to the dev [as DLC apparently]. I will buy them for sure. Eager to see what's gonna happen and hoping for a romance between my 2 favorite characters. ^^ Even though it's only 2 chapters, the game is worth it's full price. It's not expensive and for the amount of content and entertainment you get, it's definitely fair. *9.5/10* Note: You can only save the game when the PDA function becomes available and even then, it's only when experiencing the story as Fei.

Duanmu Fei has Miles Edgeworth's logic, Klavier Gavin's suaveness, and Godot's coffee addiction lol I really liked the stories as it also gives me more knowlage on how China is like, not sure if the to be continued will be updated soon with a new case or something like that because I can't search the discussion board when it's filled with chinese only XP This game has a variaty of puzzles in the 2nd case which I find pretty hard aside from the password hacking one, even Layton puzzles weren't this hard (so I google translated a guide lol) I don't really like how the whole interrogating thing has an actual time limit but since you can just redo it in skip mode and the timer won't skip it's not a huge issue. There are still some spelling or grammar errors in the english patch but not too much that you can't understand what's going on. The camera feature makes me have itchy trigger fingers to take a shot each time a character changes their expression for the photographer achievement XD
