A short adventure game with some light puzzles scattered throughout. The unique art style is perhaps its greatest strength. While certainly enjoyable for what it is, it does have a few flaws. Most of the game is very linear, which usually isn't necessarily a negative in itself, but a bit too often you feel as though where you're walking to and from are too far apart, while you're simultaneously walking a bit too slow. It feels less like time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere(which in my opinion could've been stronger), and more like artificial padding. It's not a big problem, however. As mentioned, the game's greatest strength is its "popup book" art style, and it integrates this quite well into its puzzles. However, one of the last puzzles was based on finding and counting how many times four different icons showed up, which I initially liked, but some were hidden in such a way that my monitor's picture quality and colour settings made it more difficult than it ought to have been. That part of the game was also the only one that didn't feel linear like the rest of the game, with some nice backtracking and moving back and forth with intent. Those two things are the only criticisms I have for this game, and they really are minor. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, though I think it could've used a tiny bit more tweaking. 100% in 2 hours.

Not much of a game and it's extremely short (1 h to complete). However, it's a wonderful 1 hour's worth of interactive digital art (that's based on pop-up books) – so a reverse of installations of digital media. There's not much of a content or meaning to the whole thing. It's best to take it at face value and focus on the experiential aspects because that's what it is – wonderful cuts of colours and shapes.

Beautiful art expression! It is not about “beating a game”, but to enjoy the graphic style, music, some nature sounds and the experience as a whole. The downside of this game is the rhythm. It should be a bit faster to move the character, so it wouldn’t be boring sometimes moving from point A to point B (even tho we got it was intentional). But the highlight of this game is surely its creativity and genius dealing with surfaces and their textures to create 3D environments. Page transitions are spectacular! I just wanted to see wolfs again :,)

Easy, beautiful game. The puzzles don't require much thought, but the music and art are beautiful.

Tengami is a cute, serene, short game where we follow a lonely man through a paper world in a search for lost petals of dying sakura. The inspiration in Japanese culture is visible in every aspect of the game, be it visuals, music, or overall mood, and it works pretty well. Moving around is slow, but thanks to the shorter length of the game (you can complete it in one sitting) it doesn't turn into frustration. You will feel like you are actually reading a book as you need to flip the paper all the time. With it, you will change scenes, and perspectives or solve clever puzzles. Sometimes the speed of your flip can be crucial as you can uncover hidden clues with a slower motion which is neat! I remember pop-up books from my childhood and how mesmerized I was by them, Tengami does a great job of recreating this feeling. Thanks to the calm atmosphere it's a great game to relax with, I can easily recommend it.
