game is dead, but the bots arent half bad and there is usually still a single digit number of people playing at minimum. I like the maps a lot more than verdun, but damn the swaying of the guns in this game is too much for me. I understand its unrealistic for a person to be able to hold a rifle without even a millimeter of movement when aimed in with iron sights, but its a game, and no other game ive played so far has this mechanic....and even if they do, the swaying isnt as bad. just my two cents. i still recommend the game as its not bad as a game, just wish there were more players like verdun or isonzo.

Now this, THIS IS MASTERPIECE. They managed to make it fun. I know why they make verdun a tug of war and this a skirmish gameplay. But they should've done something interesting and fun in verdun because it really feels lazy there. The map here is not linear, There are different objective or sector that you can take or flank to. The Gunplay is again impressive. There are a lot of interesting guns to choose from, they're as unique as verdun. 7/10

Look, hardly anyone plays this game, but if you want some mindless fun against bots using a challenge to run around with a sword as a Russian in the woods while they shoot inaccurately at you... Get it on sale

Tannenberg is an amazing game that captures the desperation and death that was ever so prevalent on the eastern front. Not only is the eastern front significantly different from the western front featured in Verdun and the Italian front featured In Isonzo but the gameplay is different as well. There's a much higher focus on maneuverability as the front is broken into sections that can be cut off, so the maps are more dynamic. The units and factions are cool and balanced, it's fun to see Romanians and Bulgarians in the game. And there's a Romanian map. The Cossacks are cool, as are the swords they wield. Sword combat is surprisingly not unheard of. Now the elephant in the room, there's very few people playing. On a good day you might have 5 real players on each team. But worry not my friend, we have bots!!!! yes Bots populate the servers and they can be put to a hard difficulty. And bot lobbies allow for progression and achievements and all that good stuff. The game is more balanced as there's no infantry machine guns or scoped sniper rifles so it's just bolt action rifles up against swords and revolvers. It has an entirely different feel. If for some reason you have not bought Verdun or Isonzo and aren't super knowledgeable in this franchise, the WW1 Series prides itself on realistic game play with historic authenticity. A Single rifle shot will drop you, and a handgun / revolver will do it in two. So you are surrounded by death, there are machine guns placed on the map and as you can imagine they are extremely tactical. When you see Russian and Austrian conscripts die by the thousands you see why Russia had a civil war and Austria-Hungry collapsed in this war. The music, voices and sounds make you feel like you're really there, deep in the Polish forests waiting behind thick trees to attack, knowing that death will come for you any moment. From gas, from a bullet, from artillery or even being stabbed by a bayonet of sword. 85/100, even with bots, it's timeless.
