This game is addictive. After you rescue all nine kittens, it allows you to keep playing. So, you have an opportunity to increase your health capacity and weapons strength endlessly (so far). I've made it to level 122 (in the feral version, not the easy one where you just respawn after death) with a 262 attack power and 735 life. After level 100, the weapons and rewards get really good. Love this game

Tallowmere was (and still is) one of the best rouge-likes I've ever played. It deserves vastly more love than it gets. I didn't even know this game existed until today and I bought it instantly as I am more than happy to help this developer out. While I hope this game is completed someday, it's certainly playable as-is and there is always Tallowmere 1 for those who dislike ea and want a full release. This game feels like a tightened up, slightly refined version of Tallowmere, and I look forward to seeing what is next.

Pretty fun rogue like. be it a tough one. so there's a challenge there if you want it. played both singleplayer and multiplayer and game runs good.. just had a few minor d'cs often from my internet, but pretty solid experience. the chests are given separately kinda like in Crab Champions or some other titles. The Premise of the Story being straight forward, Lady sends her cats through a cosmic shift in time and space, then says... "go find them" lol. being either put to the test or just used for entertainment you take your axe and you march into that battlefield for the kittens. Can totally relate.

Tallowmere 2: Curse of the Kittens" offers a fun and addictive gameplay. Its roguelike randomness and challenging mechanics make it a distinctive entry in the action platformer genre. If you enjoy games that test your reflexes and strategic thinking, this game is worth trying out. And please bring some real lifelike kittens , to play games with. As mostly there are no sessions or players playing this game at a given time destroying the core online co-op aspect of the game.

An excellent game that takes the original and improves on it in almost every way. Even though the game had to be launched early due to issues with the creator's health, it is still endlessly fun and re-playable. Tallowmere 2 is a procedurally-generated rogue-like 2-D platformer follow-up title to the original game, Tallowmere, but expands on a lot of the rogue-like concepts of the first game and refines them into what is a much more fully-realized experience (despite it not being complete). Quite possibly the best feature is the couch co-op. It is so much fun to load up a game and get a few people to play. The chaos that ensues with more than 1 player is fun and the leader boards add a great incentive to try and stay alive or rush through for an attempt at a speed record. Tallowmere 2 is very easy for someone to pick up and play, even someone who doesn't normally play video games. No stamina bar and the ability to return to a safe room and heal all contribute to a deceptively "easy-to-learn but hard-to-master" type of experience. Controls are solid and feel good (the game is best played with a controller) and there is a good variety of weapons. One of the big things that is missing from the move out of early access were some of the weapon types, especially ones from the first game like the ice wand and dagger (along with the stealth mechanic), but again these were cut due to issues with the creator's health. Even with a handful of cut weapons there is still a pretty decent array of ranged and melee types. Several different elemental, status, and explosive effects keep things interesting and allow some variation in play style. Different player avatars, that can be swapped out before entering the dungeon, unlock as progress is made and all have some kind of bonus effect or buff that differentiates them from each other. And if you are an achievement hunter good luck because this one will keep you going for a while since there are a lot and many of them are tied to co-op play or grinding kills above certain room levels. The game is clearly missing some features (these are easily seen on the community road map post that the creator made a while back) but even in the current state the game is a complete experience and holds up. It is certainly worth the price of admission (it regularly goes on sale for <$10). I recommend this game to everyone with Steam. It has a place in the library of casual and more hardcore rogue-like fans alike, and is just a great game that you can pick up and have a quick fun session on with friends. Hopefully one day we will see a fully complete version, but even if that never happens I will likely keep coming back to play this in between other games.
