My favorite board game has been wonderfully transformed into a digital experience. The music is fun, playing the game is fun, and each adventure varies wildly from the next. Highly recommend!

OK, this game probably splits opinions. It is simply a almost exact digital version of the old talisman board game. This brings advantages and disadvantages. It brings across all the feelings and atmosphere of the board game, together with it's rather unforgiving rules and frustrating roll effects. And this is pretty much where the cookie crumbles... If you like the old board game or the 1980s board game style in general, you'll love this. If you want a balanced and fair game where you require loads of skill, then you'll be disappointed. A big plus is the ability to play online with others who have the same game and expansions which makes for good fun (again, if you like board games). And talking about expansions, there are a LOT of them. One might argue that they should be included in the game from the start, as it feels a little like a money grab... From my perspective, it is actually quite a nostalgic little game that I like to unpack every now and then, as it was one of the first things that drew me ultimately into RPGs later on. But YMMV. Probably best bought when on sale for most people.

This game is as near 100% accurate and realistic depiction of what it would be like to be an actual hero wandering around a magical fantasy kingdom: Life is completely and utterly unfair, and nobody ever gets what they want or deserve.

It's crazy how much you just remember those long nights with friends sitting around the table trying so hard to gain enough attributes to pass the portal, board littered with cards that you haven't been able to defeat yet, but suddenly the tipping point is reached and you clear the lot of them.

This game is a double edged sword. On one hand its some of the most fun you could have and experience some of the most stupid shit ever. On the other its a frustrating mess that mostly fucks you over both with RNG and the way some cards or mechanics are done. Especially when it comes to expansions. From what i did manage to play in terms of expansions The Forest has some of the most broken and overpowered things ever. The Harbinger is basically the expansion that screws over every single player that dares to play with it. The RNG is really busted. Least when it comes to the dice it is that way. It definitely feels more like its coming from a RNG table rather than actual dice. This can lead to some of the most frustrating moments i have ever experienced in a game ever. Multiple attack rolls that feel like that should've succeeded, Multiple rolls where you're turned into a toad because someone cast random on you, a whole lot of bullshit. I honestly can't really decide if i would recommend or not because of all this. for now i'll say can recommend but only if you prepare for bullshit this game has to offer.
