This is one of those kinda broken unpolished games that you play because of the jank, not despite it. The large battles are pretty fun, progression is pretty fun, it's just a good time. I will say, however that the developer has an incredibly weird sense of humor. One of the companion "quests" if you can call it that involves you taking out your dick and pissing on him. That was a little weird. Other than that stuff tho, really fun game.

Is it rough around the edges? Yes. Is there a big plot? No. Does it feel like Blade and Sorcery? No. Is it still an absolutely great time? Absolutely. This game makes you feel like a warlord on a battlefield willing to take on hundreds (literally hundreds, by the way) of enemies with a small troop that you can command and really gives you the epic feeling of being *that guy*. It feels crazy that I only have 16.5 hours on record when I feel like I've done so much and could do more. Attacking castles, jousting, finding companions to join you; its the stuff outside the big massive battles that give this game a nice touch as you slowly (or sometimes quickly) amass your army and storm every kingdom down and behead every king in your wake. I haven't even begun modding it yet either and I'm sure that would add all sorts of fun things as well. Its well worth your money, more so if its on sale.
