Very fun and very challenging to figure out game play, Little current youtube info but enough to get started and 242 hrs and i'm just now building structures, A bit frustrating but then i'm 71 so takes me a bit to remember not to poke bears with wood spears. Best survival game I ever played.

This game is surprisingly fun! I was hesitant to buy it because of the mixed reviews, but ultimately tried the demo. Glad I did! I am currently playing on Survival Mode, and am enjoying it thoroughly. I've been bingeing it for hours. Bottom Line: This game is for the tedious survival crafting lovers! The crafting system is very complex. Yes, making a fire is difficult at first. It took me four tries. Your skill goes up every time you try to make a fire, even if you fail. And ultimately, it's just another mini-game. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. The demo is slightly buggy. It wants you to do things in a certain order. If you go out of order, it makes you do them again. Also, I had trouble with the canoe recipe. It wasn't showing up in the list. However, once I closed the game and restarted, the game corrected itself. I definitely recommend doing the tutorial! I did it several times due to the learning curve and location. For Example: When you start a new game, look at the map. For an easier start, you want to be close to fresh water. If you are on an island that doesn't have it, create a new game. Also, freezing status is no joke. I was away from my fire at night and it began to rain. I went from 90 to 20 health in a matter of a few meters. On a side note, tiny crabs can be used for healing. Not very filling though. Tips: - Once you have a stone ax, make chopping up driftwood for firewood a priority. Always have a few bundles of wood close to your fire. - Keep your tools and several green coconuts around your fire. Night time is long, and you'll get thirsty and/or hungry. - In addition to that, save crafting "little things" for night time, and go exploring and collect during the day.

A very relaxing game to play once you get the hang. Should YOU buy it? Firstly play the friggin demo and figure it out yourself:) second if you’re more into QoL and depth of mechanics vs arcadey type gameplay you will like it. Personally I think the innovation from the devs is more than welcome. What do I mean by deep mechanics- you have to use both hands to do things. Want to make an axe? How does one do that? Make axe head get stick, get rope. How does one make the actual axe? In left hand grab something to chisel, in right hand grab a rock to do the chiselling. Ok - now hold to craft it. Now you need to tie the rope to bind it…Drop chisel items on left/right hand - hold to tie the rope. That’s an example but you get it. As you do so your skills increase so it’s all quite satisfying. Great game and keep improving it.

Survisland is a breath of fresh air for survival crafting fans! It ditches the usual combat and loot grind, focusing instead on the raw challenge of staying alive in a harsh environment. The crafting and survival mechanics are deep and intricate, requiring experimentation and resourcefulness – just like real survival. The included tutorial helps you get started without spoiling the fun of discovery. Some players who experienced the game in early access might be frustrated by the changes to the crafting system, especially if they got used to a different way of doing things. I believe that it is this frustration, rather than the game itself, that is leading to all of the negative reviews. If you're looking for a hardcore survival experience that focuses on resourcefulness and overcoming challenges, Survisland is definitely worth checking out.

Well its released, so far, its something...something as in realistic to the point I am feeling like Im really working. lol Its good and different and no more just tossing to things together you are making it. It takes a bit to get the hang of it and remember that you can use a rock as a hammer. It took me a minute screaming, I dont have a hammer!! I really like it, gives you a feel of accomplishment. I hope people grab it and be patient until you get it down. It all makes sense once you do. Someone worked very hard on this game I can tell you that.
