I've always liked this game since it first came out. It's ... weird. A bit slow, but it has a very unique charm. I would categorize this as one of those games, where you need an open mind to experience it. You will not find a story like Undertale, or the action of Hollow Knight. I'd describe the experience more akin to watching a musical, depicting a strange world, and the hero doesn't really know to make sense of it and following one step after the other.

Sword and Sworcery is an interesting game to come back to all these years later after I initially played it on mobile when I was a child. On the one hand, the graphics and soundtrack are still beautiful, and overall I would say I enjoyed the experience- on the other, it's MASSIVELY dated in some places. Some of the lolsorandom and early 2010s-era hipster humor dialogue makes me want to actually die, and though this can't be helped since it was initially designed for mobile, some of the moment to moment gameplay can be a bit dull. Fights are laughably easy save for maybe the third Trigon and the puzzles can be solved by clicking around enough- though depending on the person that might not be a bad thing since it allows you to focus on experiencing the story more. It's also very short, taking me just 3 hours to 100%, so for $8 it is a slightly steep price... but honestly the presentation is good enough that I can excuse it in this case. Overall I'd recommend it, just be aware of what you're getting into. It's a 2-3ish hour game from 2012, and in some places its age really shows.

I used to play this game on my dad's phone when I was a little kid, and so I bought on steam just to feel the nostalgia. Back when I would play it with my dad, I couldn't read, or figure out even what to do in the game, so playing it now is pretty rad.

One of my favorite games of all time. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible. The story is interesting and a little vague, but it adds to the intrigue. Also love the pixel art for the game and the little hidden clues and easter eggs.

It's a game built on simple gameplay with just a few simple routines, with a fairly simple story that plays out mostly avoidant of significant twists and turns, and yet it manages to use art and music and dialogue and atmosphere to create one of my favourite video games that manages to stick with me to this day. Personification of being so much more than the sum of it's humble parts.
