Finally, after a long time, I have beaten the Hyper Hexagonest stage, and man, I couldn't be more euphoric. I first remember playing this game many moons ago. At that time, I was a young lad and was so proud to flaunt to my friends how good I was at this game. I used to play it on my cell phone back then and was never able to beat the last stage no matter how hard I tried. I came close many times but never was able to reach the 60-second mark. But today, I finally did it after all those years. Enough with the yapping about my history with this game; let's get to my final thoughts on it. I have so many memories and raw emotions connected to this simple and basic minimalist game. But Terry Cavanagh really crafted a masterpiece of a game, and I cannot recommend this game enough for how fun and stressful it is. Also, great soundtrack by Chipzel as well. It really gets you in the mood to escape the shapes. Thanks for all the fun times.

11 years, about 60 hours, still enjoying it, this game is pure, addictive, punishing yet not frustrating, it's best described as the three words you'll hear the most: "game over.... again"

8/10 Thanks to this game, I have developed the ability to see into the future. What is it: A fast-paced movement game, very short but very hard, with a simple premise: turn to avoid the incoming obstacles. You can approach the first level with normal "see the wall and get out of the way" tactic, but that becomes impossible later on. The levels are not a random spread of walls you have to dodge, but a random series of well defined "enemies", sequences of walls with a predictable pattern. You'll have to keep on playing and dying until you learn how to defeat each enemy instinctively, using just muscle memory. When you see the spiral, just keep going left (or right) until it's over. When you see the multi-C, keep short-tapping at 200ms intervals. When you see the shallow zipper, short tap left and right with very brief pauses. The deep zipper requires medium taps with no pause. And you have to learn to recognize the enemies from a very brief glance and prepare for them. Keep dying and trying, until you become better and better, and soon you'll be able to finish the normal levels almost on each try. Good luck with the Hyper mode! Now I can catch things as they fall, answer questions before they are asked, watch youtube at 300% speed, and most importantly, guess if the next opening is going to be left or right! The first level is the easiest, it feels quite slow to me now, mostly with sparse rows that can be easily dodged just by moving out of the way. The second level introduces dense "enemies" that don't leave you enough time to think through, you need to develop an instinct for how short/long to tap and what kind of pause to leave between taps. The third level changes the speed of the game, so your muscle memory needs to be retrained to work on double time, and it also introduces crazy spins, when everything suddenly turns super fast and you need to quickly reorient yourself. Each level starts a bit slower and gains speed as you progress. The next 3 levels are repeats of the first 3, but in Hyper mode, without the slower start, and are unlocked only when you manage to stay for at least one minute in the equivalent non-Hyper level. After beating the sixth level, you enter the ultimate stage, where the game no longer spins, but that makes the enemies harder to recognize beforehand. Other than single player mode, there's also an arcade mode for parties, where each player takes a turn competing for the high score. Notice: The game is very flashy, some strobe effects, jumpy/jerky animations, may cause issues for people with visual sensitivity. How hard is it: Very very hard. I've struggled many days to finish the first level, and it only goes harder from there. The first level's difficulty is called "Hard", and it goes up to "Hardest-est-est", and that is all before the ultimate stage you can only reach at the end of the last level. How long is it: 6+1 very similar levels, but you can play for days and weeks to progress through them. If you're a regular precision platforming gamer, you could finish it in 10+hours, but younger children or "normal" people without super fast reflexes will struggle for a long time. Level design: Great. With such a simple premise, the game manages to put many different enemies in your way, unique in the way to solve them yet easily distinguishable from a quick glimpse. Quality: Great! As a very simple game of pure skill, there's not much to ask from it, yet it delivers. Engaging music, clean graphics, enough settings, leaderboards and achievements, cloud save. Worth the price: Yes. Most positive aspect for me: Good tool for honing my reflexes. Most negative aspect for me: The last stage is only accessible after beating the sixth level, without a direct way to run it. What would make it better: More achievements. Add an option to disable some of the epilepsy-inducing effects like fast color and brightness changes and the flashing zoom effect. Also consider: [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/390610/Circa_Infinity/]Circa Infinity , another circular fast-paced game, with a more platformer style, with many more levels and two different game modes.
